Y'see, a few weeks ago, I was tensing up over other tensions between me and my parents. My uncle, who I love so much more than my parents also had tensions of his own, and he didn't want me to spoil it any more. I started crying like the 8-year old I wish to be and—bam!—my uncle quotes Jamil Neate and slaps me on the cheek.

But I cry more, and everything escalates. And he hugged me. I cried gradually softly until I fell asleep for a bit.

Now tell me, have you ever gotten slapped just so you could 'get over it'? I mean, Bright-slapping, the one where you're all sulky and the only way to get through it is through getting hit hard?

I have. And I know it doesn't work.

I think it actually is Bright Slap for people, machines get Percussive Maintenance. Unless you're a cyborg.

I've been Brightslapped of sorts and it worked. Your Mileage May Vary on effectiveness.

It's worked for me a time or two.

Both brightslapping and Percussive Maintenance.
