Considering that Asura vs everyone would pit him against every Shin Megami Tensei protagonist simultaneously, I couldn't see Asura winning.
Demi-Fiend alone is bad news for gods and god-like entities, but add in Protagonist, Bel, Yu Narukami... All of them are god-busters.

Demi-Fiend and Bel are probably both up there (assuming a timeline where the DS protagonist inherits the full power of Bel). They both end up being entities on par with Lucifer and Satan. I know the protagonist of SMTII had to fight YHVH.
Upon looking it up, Demi-Fiend is accepted as the most powerful SMT protagonist and one of the most powerful SMT entities altogether.
Demi-Fiend made it in Digital Devil Saga as a bonus boss.
He is widely regarded as the hardest bonus boss. Ever.

The Fiend kicked his ass. Twice. And then convinced him to join him on jolly satanic adventures.

The cutscenes made it pretty clear that Dante was holding back though. The ending of the second fight even makes it seem like he would've killed the Demifiend anyway had he not changed his mind.
Eh, good point. Maybe we haven't seen Dante's true power yet, and he's just been holding back so that the games are fun?

SMT!Dante is from second Devil May Cry, read: at his absolute strongest. I suppose it would be fair to assume they are at least equal.
I think a couple of Youtube comments brought it in a classical Bayonetta vs. Dante and the same would apply here. Demi-Fiend relies more on his demons to dish out damage though not to the extent Bayo does. Unlike her he can likely survive a couple of direct hits, but Dante is still in better physical shape, most likely. Any demon Demi can throw at him he can most likely kill or incapacitate.

As awesome as Solid Snake is, I can't see him winning. JC Denton is just plain more superhuman than him. It'd be like Snake taking on a full blown cyber ninja without any advantages ( like the guy having a death wish ). And that's assuming this is DE 1 Denton, and not DE 2 Denton.

I don't know about that. Solid Snake has taken on some crazy tough people in his time with all sorts of weird abilities. Then again I don't know the full extent of Denton's augs, having never played the game. Favoring Denton to win overall, but I think it would be a close fight.

From the beginning of this page. I'd say the most powerful SMT protag is agruably, Aleph from SMT 2. Lucifer was confident he could outright kill Satan with Aleph's help. And the guy goes on to beat all four Archangels, a replica of YHVH made from the wishes of humankind, and he fought YHVH himself and technically won.

While Jotaro Kujo has time stopping Asura is in another different league. Jotaro wouldn't be able to do any damage during the time stop. Asura would slowly grind his way through time stops and have a pummel duel with star platinum which he'd eventually win.
