Looks like these developers have been taking notes when playing Valve's games.
Accidental mistakes are forgivable, intentional ones are not. There's something about the look in her eyes and the pick in her hand that strongly reminds me of The Descent.
You know...I'm skeptical about this, but just the concept of what they're doing has a lot of promise. Just imagine if they can capture the suspense and fear of navigating a deep, dark place filled with treacherous terrain and unknown horrors. I'm very pleased that the interview seems to be indicating this sort of direction, cause I think it would be awesome.
I'll be keeping an eye on this one. It has promise!
I think she sorta looks like Zoey
Exactly why I made the comparison with Valve's games, although I was admittedly thinking more of Alyx Vance from Half Life, given I haven't played that much of Left 4 Dead.
Accidental mistakes are forgivable, intentional ones are not.She still looks pretty attractive to me, even covered in grit and dried blood.
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite.I've never cared for the Tomb Raider franchise, but that picture almost makes me change my mind. For the first time, there's a character I could respect.
<><Huh. This might just get me playing Tomb Raider again.
The term "Great Man" is disturbingly interchangeable with "mass murderer" in history books.i dont like it personnally, too bland
http://steamcommunity.com/id/Xan-Xan/Very pretty trailer (only thing Squeenix has been good at lately IMO) but nothing about it felt very..."Tomb Raider" to me.
I'll wait until I see some gameplay. The new croft IS sexy I admit though.
Lets hope they remember Lara is supposed to be a badass. Every screenshot I've seen (and this trailer) has her looking like she's either in pain or being attacked.

Lara's narration is awful and I hope it's not in the game or at least not as cliched/poorly written. Other than that trailer looks quite nice. I wonder if Lara getting battered around with bruises and blood and stuff is a sustained/scripted thing a la sands of time or arkham asylum or if it's just a transient wound that'll fade after a minute or two.
She's extremely badass in the trailer. You can see her toughening up and becoming a survivor - at all costs.
Jonah FalconShe sounds like Keira Knightley.
Doesn't feel like something from TR. More like a grimdark TR fanfic in VG form.
I dont really see her being a badass there. She almost drowns but is saved thanks to some nameless guy, has to get saved again by him but fails, then wakes up in pain and moves on.
Tough? Yes. Badass? Not seeing it.
I think this lara's actually prettier. Sure, she's got a lot of dirt and stuff on her face, but i'm sure She Cleans Up Nicely. Especially if she has to do another dinner party sequence or something.
The old lara croft... always seemed to have a really big head. Or maybe her shoulders were just too small, but the proportions were always off (and let's not talk about that chest).
This isn't exactly the reboot I had in mind. Will have to wait and see.
The Blood God's design consultant.I remember reading about this in Gamepro or some similar magazine where they got to play it for a bit and from what I remember it seemed pretty intense. Not to mention I just love a good reboot in general so I'm excited for this.
You are not alone, and you are not strange. You are you, and everyone has damage. Be the better person.Oh, noes! She's got a pugnacious jaw, sharp cheekbones, and is down to a C-cup! Ruined FOREVER!
Heh. I love watching fanboys freak (and trust me—they're freaking). She's still pretty (well, less so with all that crud all over her...but you get my drift), and she looks athletic and badass. I like.

She's....hideous. Too dirtied up and scarred. Granted her old model was even worse, that thing had boobs sharp and pointy enough to poke your eyes out!
They shoulda made her thinner and smoother. And if they really can't do emotions, just give her a cold blank face, the "dinosaurs? pfft..." apathetic kinda face...now that I think about it, the only reason I bothered with Tomb Raider back then was because it had a dinosaur in one of the game.
But the main problem isn't Lara not being good looking, but it's how grim and dark the game is.
The old games were never that cheery, but atleast it had some color...very little, but the trailer Took It Up To Eleven.
So it's just a Real Is Brown Darker and Edgier reboot now.
In terms of badass...did she do anything in that trailer that I miss?* She just woke up, her boat started sinking, and she needed some guy to help her, and then she woke up scarred and dirtied.

"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."I disagree about her being slimmer she's actually an okay size(her face looks really good too) but yeah I'm bugged by this darker approach as well. That's what's killing it for me. Not digging the grit and such as much as others either, and I miss her shorts. I know the pants are more sensible but those shorts were part of her iconic look.

I couldn't care less, frankly. They've promised an open island to explore though. That could be interesting.
