There really isn't a set rate dude. It's up to the individual artist, they decide how much their time is worth. But as a general rule of thumb, if you're like me and are working on sleeves, be prepared to shell out a few hundred at least.
What do you plan on getting?
I plan on getting my name transliterated into Arabic down either the inside or the outside of my right arm.
Another one my friends and I came with while drunk is... a bit tacky. It's a confederate flag with the colors of the gay pride flag. I don't think I'll be getting it, but it would be awesome in a tacky way.
I'm not sure where, but I also want "God is my Judge" as a tattoo. That will be in English.

He's a gay, Confederate Muslim! Get him...wait; the fuck?
In all seriousness, that doesn't sound that bad; take some time and see if thee's anything else you could add to it (possible at a later date) if you ever decided to get a sleeve.
Don't want to waste good real estate.
Hmm, you think people would mistake me for Muslim? I'm actually a Catholic. I was wanting it in Arabic because it looks cool. Greek and Cyrillic is also pretty cool, too.
Also, considering that my name means "God is my Judge", would those two be redundant? "Only God can judge me" could be a good alternative if it would.
You mean you're not suspiciously brown?
But back on topic, Sanskrit text looks really nice; I'm thinking about getting some on my back.

No, I'm half-French half-English. White as you can be without being a ginger, hah.
Sanskrit does look pretty cool. You know what you're going to have written in it?
I think I might take my ex's suggestion and get "World peace can be achieved by the precise application of force."
Not sure if that will translate that well to be honest.
I want to get a tattoo of a mouth on my palm.

^^ What's your name, Y'golonac?

"My life is my own" | If you want to contact me privately, please ask first on the forum. My mom recently got a tattoo of a butterfly on her foot. She said that the only thing more painful than that was giving birth. Now I definitely know I'm not getting that dragon tattoo * on my foot.
I think she just encountered a hack. I've watched my cousin getting one and he was all smiling and talking about weathers with me. Then again, he's a tough bastard.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel. Was he also tattooed on his foot? Because that's supposed to be one of the most painful places to get ink on.
I am sketching out a to-be-determined symbol, in memory of my brother. He liked his ink. Even if it's a small simple tattoo due to time, money, and lower pain threshold, I really like the idea.
I might either get a Stark sigil tattoo that would either be the wolf or the motto, a Chaos Undivided tattoo or a Faction Paradox tattoo. Of course, I would probably find others to get later on.

L'idylle est mort.Sooooo... I was thinking about a new tattoo idea, and what's coming up is either an ash branch in bloom or blue poppies with a serpent.
Feminist in the streets, sex slave in the sheetsI've been thinking abotu a tattoo for a long while, but I am deathly afraid of needles and the pain >>
It has always been the prerogative of children and half-wits to point out that the emperor has no clothesI am just 17, and I haven't any tattoo. My parents says me that I can do my first tattoo only in 4 years. I have some time to think what I want. Now I think to do watercolor tattoo with small flowers. Maybe it will be poppy flowers like this "flowertattooideas.com/50-watercolor-poppy-tattoos/" But would it looks great? How do think?

Add the time needed to save the money to those four years. ;)
I was thinking about a Japanese style phoenix half-sleeve, but that's gonna cost me six hundred bucks or thereabouts, from what I know.
That's, like, my entire paycheck 'round these parts.

It's been awhile since this was posted in last...
but, I've been thinking of getting a few tattoos this summer. I haven't quite figured out what they will be, but I'm certain of the locations.
In general, how much should I expect to pay for an average tattoo?
