Patch now up. Here's a list of changes:

  • To resolve activation issues, PC copy protection has been removed.
  • In Moscow during the assault of Brayko's Mansion, the player could get into a situation where a door would not be openable preventing progression through the rest of the level. This has been fixed.
  • In Taipei, during the Stop the Assassination mission, the user can fall out of the world if they reload the "Exit Gardens" checkpoint. *There was also a problem where if the player backtracked, part of the level might not load in properly. This has also been fixed.
  • In the same mission, a problem with subtitles was corrected.
  • In the museum in Rome, the game could crash when using Focused Aim to kill the NPC holding Madison in the elevator.
  • Bosses could get stuck in an accelerated mode when Fury wears off.
  • Chainshot was exploitable to slow time and get critical headshots without consuming its cooldown.

I really want to buy this game but my pc is broken. Shame it's not getting a sequel tough. Is it very buggy?

I've heard word that the console versions were a Porting Disaster.

[up] I'd say the inverse is true. The PC versions have really clunky controls that feel like they were meant to be on console.

It takes more than a poor control scheme to make a "disaster". In my experience, it runs fine, and I could count all the bugs I encountered on one hand.

Well...if you do not mind possibility of bugs, clunky control, a bit... lacking balance, and dated graphics, then all of the other elements are top-notch

Dated Graphics? Eh, maybe they look a couple years old, but a consolefag won't notice the difference.

And yeah, the balance for combat is borked, but if you know where the Game Breakers are (and you will need them, because the bosses fight dirty) then you'll be fine.

[up] Dated graphics and bad animation were two of the more common complaints about the game. I personally don't think so (IMHO, some levels are downright pretty), but Your Mileage May Vary, so I listed it as one of the perceived flaws.

And actually, I have pretty different experience about difficulty of the game than most people. I thought that the game was not very difficult (even that Russian Mob Boss, but I WAS specializing in shotgun and martial arts, so...) and really easy to break. High stealth, especially made pretty much everything but boss battles trivial.

The graphics were... Functional. Not horrendeously ugly, but hardly pretty either. They're just sort of... There.

I loved it, I just wish wish WISH that they had allowed a larger G22 subplot, those guys were all sorts of awesome.

Also managed to get through the game on hard without killing anyone grin

^ I second that sentiment.

It really looked like they were building up a plot arc around Sis, Albatross, and the meaning behind Sis's locket. Which was abruptly dropped after the one scene it's introduced in.

Kicking ass alongside the one side that even Alpha Protocol doesn't know exists would have been do unutterably awesome.

^^ It IS pretty awesome if you've got them for your handler in the final mission. Adds a smug element of "I know something you don't know!" when you're talking to Assface about what's going to happen to you.

Wait, so G22 aren't important? All that effort I put into building bridges with them, including saving that douchebag Albatross's life is for nothing?

They made for damn useful allies on the missions where they helped, but I could never shake that feeling that Albatross was bursting into gut-laughs and going "What a fucking patsy" whenever he thought I couldn't see him.

EDIT: And yeah, I'll agree with the sentiment that the graphics are "just there". They're not cutting edge, but they do the job and they're fairly immersive so I don't see why people are whining so much about them.

I liked Albatross, then again I was tech saavy enough to bug his coms even when he thought I hadn't.

And having them help in Rome would be awesome, especially with Albatrosses team stopping the bombs if you have a high enough rep with him.

Well, there's some serious implications that G22 is itself an earlier incarnation of Alpha Protocol...

And G22 are important: They'reone of the major factions, it's just that you never get to know what they're all about.
