Chuck really likes using that song, doesn't he?
I'm pretty sure the sentiment is what counts as Nimoy always seemed to be against the whole US vs THEM mentality and would enjoy it for what it is... Someone's heartfelt send off.
I can't imagine a better sendoff to Mr. Nimoy than Baba Yetu. Godspeed, you great man.
I know Chuck has a set schedule and all, but I'm hoping for some TOS marathoning focusing on Spock sometime soon.

Charlie Stross's cheerful, optimistic predictions for 2017, part one of three.I think a series of videos discussing Spock as a character and the details that Leonard Nimoy put into the character would be nice.

Ooh Homefront that should be a good one, there are so many angles to come a that one.
There better be a bit about Bashir conspicuously standing by Worf on the bridge of the Defiant trying to look badass

Gurren Lagann? Really?
I love it but that is not a show that needs any kind of analysis.
If he can wring two excellent reviews out of EXPLOSION THE MOVIE Bayformers, he can make insightful reviews of the actually competently written and enjoyable Gurren Lagann.
Funny thing about Homefront and Paradise Lost and Babylon Five's Severed Dreams. Robert Foxworth was booked for Deep Space Nine and so his B5 character was killed off screen.
JMS was a little miffed at DS9 for doing a similar arc (look up the eps in Memory Alpha I won't spoil it here).
In the end they both like each others approach. Despite Foxworth.
The rivaly between Niners and Fivers was in the minds of the Fan Dumb.
All night at the computer, cuz people ain't that great. I keep to myself so I won't be on The First 48It's Rex
Wrex is a Krogan, and would've made Clone Wars more awesome.
The thing the episode doesn't bring up is there's a reason there's a divide between Rex' belief and the regular clone's almost robot like willingness to follow order - Rex is an trained by an ARC trooper. Those were trained and designed to be individuals and have initiative and drives, things that were stamped out and discouraged by the Kaminoans out of regular clones and clone commanders like Cody in episode III.

That did seem to be the case, But Then Fives Arc happened But even then, The Clones outside of the ARC troopers show varying degrees of indivuality
The Clone troops in the movie along with the Traitor
Waxer -sniff-
I do get his point as follow up for Grievous Intrigue, its a poor followup
Grievous doesn't even get away due to tactical brilliance of using his limited forces in brutal but effective stalling action. Which seemed to be the whole point of Intrigue was to firmly establish that GG is a tactical genius mixed with dick dastardly so to keep that going was a plus.
He pretty much gets away cause he has a massive headstart.
I guess if you wanted to redo, Make The deserter the cooldown episode after the Chase of Grievous -Rex gets wounded and separated in the climax of Grievous' escape- and the Republic is stuck on mop of duty dealing with whatever leftover droids are on the planet.

Direct all enquiries to Jamie B GoodOkay, I have a proposition for you guys. I want a review of Deus Ex: Human Revolution, and I think some of you do too. It's a good game; it creates an interesting debate in the form of augmentation, whether or not humans should use robotic parts to augment themselves, and it handles this with maturity and is grounded enough that I could see some of the things in this game actually happening in real life if we end up developing technology like this.
Here's the problem, to get Chuck to review a video game like this it's $400. That's an awfully large bill for one person to swallow. I was wondering if anyone here would also like to see Human Revolution reviewed. We could split the bill several ways. I know this is unorthodox, but I don't think Chuck would turn us down if, say, four people each donated $100. Does this sound like something any of you is willing to do?
Chuck is still willing to do video games right? His video game section on the donate page is either vague or out of date.

Hrrrm I already give 100$ a month via patreon. I guess i could pitch in for DE:HR
I've talked with chuck before on something similar and he would rather 1 person give all the donations than several all pitch in because of the way paypal handles it apparently.
However I'm totally down with chipping in for DE:HR (love that game, I'll even give chuck pointers on how to get through it given that I've done a pacifist run with no guns), someone just needs to collect the money.

Will Keaton, I would seriously consider contributing. (But I'll go on record saying I would vastly prefer the original game. I love Human Revolution, I think it has depth and it's in my top 10 - but the Morpheus conversation in the original itself has more to talk about than HR overall.)
The big difference is that Chuck could complete HR in about a week. The original DE could take half a year...
Really? With an avatar like that I wouldn't have pegged you for a Deus Ex fan.
Seriously though, I'm in for $100, Ghilz seems to want to donate $100, if Nate wants to put in $100 and if 1142 wants to do $100 that would make our $400 total. Though based on what Nate said it seems Chuck would prefer if he got it as one lump sum, meaning that if all four of us are going to contribute then someone would have to collect the money, then send it to Chuck as a single $400 payment.
Whew. There's a certain film I've been waiting a long, long, long, LONG time to see reviewed (seriously, like...years since I made the donation!) is up for a vote in the Senate. I'm worried as it has some stiff competition with movies that definitely have stronger name recognition. Hoping against hope...
That was beautiful, though I don't know how Nimoy, an Orthodox Jew, would have felt about being eulogized with a Christian prayernote . Yes, I do know why Chuck used it.
