I like this version of Starscream; he's less of a backstabbing little prick than the others. I mean, he took advantage of the situation, but so would any other Decepticon with the guts to try.

Yeah, but my point is he doesn't actively betray Megatron.

Or make it so obvious that he wants to overthrow Megatron that only a moron would think he's loyal.

Anyone find it funny that this series made Soundwave the sleekest, most nerdgasm-ly attractive transformer of em all? In pretty much all his earlier incarnations in past shows, he was (design-wise) a brick s**thouse. With TFP, now I have the irresistible urge to polish him to a mirror sheen every time he shows up onscreen (if only Knockout would stop hogging all the damn polish waii)

[up]Aesthetically, he is very pretty, but I enjoy more the fact that he's so creepy. He has no voice and uses someone else's words against them. Also, he somehow seems to influence Starscream just by looking at him.

By the way, is anyone else here just waiting for Miko to get squished in a fight? I like her but the chick's got a death wish.

[up] I was thinking of a dramatic character development episode where Miko learns the hard way to exercise more caution after being hospitalized/put in a coma from injuries sustained during one battle between the Bots and Cons. Not only does the gang have to worry about getting her well, Zach and Raf try to convince both Agent Fowler AND Optimus Prime not to split them from the Autobots just to ensure their continued safety. And THEN there'd be the issue of lying to Miko's parents about the incident.

[up]Good idea but make it one of the others getting hurt because of her actions instead. Would have more impact I think.

That was the biggest weakness of the last episode. Miko leaping into dangerous situations is the reason people don't like humans much in Transformers series, it forces the robots to pay attention to them. They work better just as relatable characters, keep them in awe over the robot battles and even if they get into trouble from time to time make them capable or smart enough to stay safe.

That's one reason why I've enjoy Sam in the movies, in the first film he was given the cube and instructed to keep it away from the 'Cons. That gave a reason for Sam to be in danger outside of him behaving stupidly and then they showed him doing everything within his power to both stay alive and keep the cube away from Megatron. Those qualities are the reason Jack has been reasonably well received, as he tries to keep a clear head and works with what he has. He doesn't seek out trouble but he is also in a position of responsibility to keep Raj and Miko safe.

I wish MECH would chop up more Cybertronians.

It is that "Omg can you imagine if that wasn't a robot?!" feeling.

Something I realized. They killed humans!! Breakdown I can understand but Bulkhead clearly smashed a car and flipped over another WITH A HUMAN STICKING OUT OF THE TOP! There's no way the people in either of those situations survived.

Now that was certainly a solid episode. Delightfully creepy and I had a "mouth agape" look when Ratchet came across Breakdown's eye. Of course Breakdown wasn't going to suddenly switch sides but he was humble enough to show gratitude, who knows if it will be elaborated upon but they acknowledged a Worthy Opponent relationship between them. I did like that we had two sets of future plotting going on at the end, with Starscream subtly "recruiting" Breakdown since he bothered to come to his aid and Silas talking about the mysterious "Chimera" project.

As for the whole "Lethal Force" thing, you can see Bulkhead clearly pulling his punches when the soldiers were firing on him in the initial confrontation in the mine, hitting near them just to knock them down without outright squishing them. Out in the open and against armed vehicles, it suddenly becomes "You're a real threat now so I will respond in kind."

I was disappointed to see them use the wrong bits on their drills. That's the only real flaw I saw with this film.

Seriously, why do they even have females. They're robots.

Or is this one of those "It's high-tech, I don't gotta explain shit" situations?

[up]Why should male be the default? Also I think female is one of the 13 different classes of robots or something.

[up][up]I noticed that. God I love this showcool

There's so many back-stories for Transformers that you could go for almost any explanation for their genders.

Or none.
