Awful video game music

Because every long thread need its evil twin.

This is for the ear-grating shit, the lazy beeps and boops, the uninspired J-pop, the embarassing garage bands and the terrible remixes. Of course, there can also be the awesome kind of horrible.

I could open with Crazybus, but that's too cliché so here's what is probably the most brutal remix of any beloved video game composition ever.

Normally, Mega Man has awesome music, but port one of the games to the Game Gear and you get...

I have a rather low opinion on Sonic 4's music (seriously, besides from a few awesome tracks, they seriously dropped the ball here), but E.G.G. Station Zone takes the cake. A 9-second loop that is utterly grating on the ears, and what's worse, until the very last boss, it just. Keeps. Playing.

All versions of the Kid Icarus underworld song are bad. The underworld should not sound so happy.

Would I be copping out if I said most of the music from Mega Man II on Game Boy? The melody always sounds like it's one octave too high, and the drums sound more like white noise than drums.

Bland and rambling. I've doodled better (and more taut) stuff on the piano.

Isn't it supposed to represent disorder though?

This sounds like it should be a carnival theme rather than a boss theme.

I love the Tokimeki Memorial series' soundtracks, and Saki Nijino is my absolute fave char in the whole series.

But, her Image Theme in the original game... Oh god how I can't stand it, it's awful. Glad it got replaced by a variation of "Deaete Yokatta" in the Drama Series.

The updated instrumental versions are awesome, but imagine having to listen to an endless loop of THAT as an overworld theme. It's like a grade-school kid playing a recorder next to a man hitting a hollow log with a mallet.

This is a song from an AAA+++ game with generally EPIC music, but this one track gets on my nerves. It has nice instrumentals but I hate listening to it every single time I go to Junes!
