Don't even get me started on this filler tournament arc with no real stakes.

That Pan death was so fucking stupid. Like, I think it was cool back when I was thirteen or whatever (Jesus Christ, this comic moves slow as fuck), but it just screamed "Yeah, guys, GT sucked! Aren't we coooooool?"

Like the guy getting beaten up by the creators themselves for saying they took Super Oozaru from GT?

Eh. I think it was the fans spinning out Pan's death as "fuck GT" cause honestly it hasn't even the slightest connection to GT. May as well say the same for Oob losing his arm.

They claim they didn't base golden Oozaru off GT, and poked fun at that. I believe them - it's not a particularly inspired idea, and it's not rare to come up with an idea and later find it has been used elsewhere.

You mean back in the late 90s? Because that was when GT started; even then Golden Oozaru was technically a thing back in 1990, since that was when the filler scene of the Original Super Saiyan was made.

Like I said - it's not a terribly difficult to thing to think of. If Salagir grew up watching the Z broadcast, it'd be easy for him to think of that before he had even heard of GT.

To be honest, in Europe we got GT just as Z ended, and they are pretty much continuous in the mind of most people.

Also, Sharknado, would you care to refrain from going Ad Hominem with every single thing you dislike (which are quite a few)? It speaks quite poorly of you.

Interesting. Australia also had GT continue immediately after Z finished (since we had Z far enough behind where the US had it dubbed) and even back then GT wasn't seen as the same and most of my peers thought something was off or just didn't pay attention to it.

It's like if the Pan fight was one page, we didn't know Pan or the people who cared about her, and the page ended with them saying "this will all be reversed anyway."

It'd be like if Vegeta blew up those people at the World Tournament and all we saw were Gohan, Goku, and Supreme Kai's reactions, or if Buu killed everyone on Earth and all we saw was him firing, and Piccolo reacting. It doesn't have any impact if you only show the important characters. It also doesn't have any impact if you write it off as "well they'll be revived anyway." Because ultimately this is a story where that can happen and the good guys aren't going to lose.

It's also fanfiction, so of course the author wants their characters to be somewhat involved. I'd be more perturbed if we didn't see them here.

But that's also my point. We're here to watch a Tournament Arc where the stakes are... the tournament. That's all well and good. I am unmoved by these unrelated tangents where they remind us that they've got no actual stakes and no way for the heroes to lose.

I enjoy seeing these tangents. If Babidi is hijacking all of the villains and attacking multiple groups, then yes, I'd like to see what those groups are doing about it.

A single page of less important characters dealing with the hijacking isn't really that obstructive to me. It would be if it were like 4-5 pages of this.
