...Let us in...Hahahahaha.
In other news, the Thief sounds amazing. Initiative gives him the power to just do amazing Spam Attacks, it sounds like.
I have a message from another time...Say, anyone here have a guild? I really wanna get back in, Eot N is in the mail (taking too long) and I wanna get enough points at least to finish the first armor
"Need an update here!" It's the Engineer!
Looks very nice. However, not the gunslinger class I was hoping for. I'm thinking of straying towards either the Elementalist or the Most-Definitely-Not-A-Mesmer final scholar class to be revealed to decide.
Also check the videos on the main site. The quality is...very, very good.
...Let us in...Landmines, turrets, status grenades, and bomb-jumping.
I must say, not what I was expecting from a Guild Wars class. Looks interesting, though.
Can we get a name-change for this thread, to just "Guild Wars 2"?
I have a message from another time...And then the engie was the pyro.
And also the soldier, according to the Jump Shot video.

SUPER SECRET EXCLUSIVE FINAL PROFESSION REVEAL! OMG OMG OMG
...now that I've got your attention, it appears there will be no Guild Wars 2 in E3, but there will be Guild Wars 2 everywhere else. Anyone here can make any of them?
...Let us in...As much as this game interests me, I must admit that I'm getting a horrible case of Hype Aversion from its more annoying partisans who pop up on discussions of any other game to start preaching about how much better Guild Wars 2 will be. Everyone seems to be taking the developers' publicity at face value.
That scenery...hnnnngh...
Also the new Salad designs are neat. Alot less elf.
Love the racial designs I've seen so far, they're reasonably different from the standard fantasy selection while still being mainstream enough to be relatable and appealing. Not so fond of the class designs, by contrast... they seem very bland and generic, and the lack of multiclassing, while easier to balance, doesn't really help the blandness any.
I'm sure it's a great game, but I don't really like how it seems to be dropping many of the basic design differences between it and other mmorpgs that drew me to the original GW in the first place.
Furthermore, I think Guantanamo must be destroyed.Well, I could elaborate (if my freaking cat will stay off the keyboard for five seconds!), but I don't really want to turn into a stereotypical 'bitch at length about the negative, throw in a passing sentence about the positive' poster. Let those who really want to play GW 2 play GW 2, I've got plenty else in my Steam library to occupy me in the meantime.
Furthermore, I think Guantanamo must be destroyed.Hey you might become Freakazoid though with that cat!
And I dont mind debating with you. This thread is pretty much just you and me anyway.
I dont mean to double post but theres alot of gamescon coverage and I cant believe this is like the only video game community without people talking about this game. I was tempted to make a new thread about this too.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ttfOuxB6Gc Totalbiscuit playing PvE. The character generation system looks really involved, I love it.
Like I've said before, Guild Wars 2 seems mildly intriguing, but its partisans showing up to proclaim how it will revolutionise the MMORPG industry forevermore, and taking every piece of PR from the developers as gospel truth, is more a little annoying.
The problem with attempting to revolutionise the industry is that - while you may well end up with something drastically unlike any game before it, you may also end up with something drastically unlike a playable game of any description: an interesting collection of new mechanics, nothing more.
Well we need to remember that this is a sequel to guild wars 1, and alot of elements are still remaining. Its adding alot of new ideas. Is it risky? Sure, but people are so sick and tired of World Of Warcraft that people are clinging to anything different with high hopes. (Destructoid is having a fanpoll of game of the show and Guild Wars 2 is winning with 47%, BF 3 at 42%)
Is there hype? I admit, I'm getting hyped, but unlike say...Fable, I'm seeing live gameplay showing it off to back up the claims.
...I have to admit, looking into it a bit more, the weapon skills seem like they might fill the role I'd been hoping for multiclassing to fulfill in the first game. Necromancer with a spear for an underwater melee fighting style? That involves summoning vampiric shrimp? (Assuming the wiki isn't full of it.) Okay, I might just get on board with that.
I'll still miss instances, though.
Furthermore, I think Guantanamo must be destroyed.Lucky for you, this thread updates too slow to give any notable undying praise about changing games FOREVER.
I'll just be happy if this game comes out, it's good, and enjoyable people play it. If it revolutionizes how we see games forever, good for it. It's not my main concern however. I just wanna play good games.
I'm really digging the character creation at the moment. I like the whole "charm, dignity, ferocity" thing they're going with and the multiple choices in your background is very interesting. If everyone has to play the good guy you need to have some clever way of making it different for each player (kinda like Mass Effect. Although I didn't really like the Paragon/Renegade system myself, I commend its effort.)
...Let us in...What is the pricing scheme going to be?
Apocalypse: Dirge Of Swans.Same as the first, a one-time up front purchase.
...Let us in...Hm... This looks very good. Not sure about how I feel concerning auto-attack being optional, but it's all good, since it can still be used. The whole idea of having a trio of combo attacks stacked into one skill slot is very nice, and I like the whole composite backgroudn thingamajig. All in all, it's looking pretty good so far.
I just wish I could still play as a Monk...
I have a message from another time...
The more I read about what they're doing for this game, the more I want it.
"I can't imagine what Hell will have in store, but I know when I'm there, I won't wander anymore."
