I suspect it has to do with the context of genuine Srs Bsns combined with the utter straightfacedness with which it posted—I needed to read it twice, but on that second reading, I cracked up like nothing else. His followup was pretty good too.
(I originally labeled this as "one of the funniest single posts I've ever read", but I don't want to cause Hype Aversion, especially since it's not as funny without having read the last few pages. Still.)
