Technically, it's a light novel. More info here. You could also look Danbooru/Gelbooru for the nice colored illustrations.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.How... gratuitous.
Hey, at least it explains why Rebuild!Mari is so catlike, or why she's so at home with The Beast mode.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Sadly enough, making catgirls is far from the most irrational secret government project in the Evangelion universe.
So a theory I've heard from the dudes at Eva Geeks is that Rei and Yui were transferred from Unit 01 to Unit 13, hence why Unit 01 wasn't working. What say you?
Boy, if that's the case, then Rei and Yui are pretty much dead.
To fit with the theme, shouldn't unit 13 have Kaworu's mother in it?
Pretty much.
I loved Episode III.
Well, to each his own.
But I must say, I take issue with the fact that some people say 3.0 is awesome just because of how dark and depressing it is. If there are two tropes I hate more than anything, it's Shoot the Shaggy Dog and True Art Is Angsty.
I just hope and pray that 4.0 won't be either of those.
You do realise this EVA right?
A franchise well known for being overly dark with messed up characters.
Hoping that the Rebuild's finale will end on a good note seems a bit silly especially after what 3.0 does.
I get that. Heck, of course I want it to be dark and the like.
What I don't want is for it to wallow in its darkness and depressing tone to the point that it feels hopeless. Again, there needs to be a balance. Being dark is great and all, provided that it doesn't come at the expense of the plot and characters. 3.0 missed this imo.
Fair enough.
I'll still need to pass my judgement on 3.0 eventually subbed, dubbed or otherwise
Can't wait to hear your thoughts on it.
Also, I'm all for a good tragedy and the like. Heck, I can even tolerate a Downer Ending. However, a good tragedy needs to at least get to its depressing climax because the characters simply tried the best they could. You can't have it be because they were acting like idiots. While a Tragic Hero is usually not the brightest bulb in the chandelier, and can indeed be an idiot, you can't make the situation a no-win scenario, nor can you have everyone else be idiots simply to make the story darker than it needs to be. A good tragedy is brought up because the situation could have been either avoided or done it a much better way, and the characters were either misguided or did what would be considered the right thing, but circumstances made it otherwise.
And again, the characters can indeed be rather stupid and idiotic, but it has to make sense from within the story. Yes, it works for shows like Madoka Magica since all the main characters are simple schoolgirls who are barely entering puberty and thus are at that emotional stage in life. It does not work for something like 3.0, in which the characters have had over a decade to mature, yet still act like misguided teenagers. I don't care that their brains didn't grow as much as usual. 14 years is going to change and harden someone.

Onto another note.
Thinking back to the ending of 3.0, I feel that it could have been made much more powerful if Shinji didn't just mindlessly grab the Spears. Like, have him indeed listen to Kaworu and the like, and suddenly be forced to face the reality of what will happen should he grab them. Maybe even have him try desperately to deny it, with Kaworu pleading to Shinji, even saying that if he grabs them, Gendo will win. Have Shinji falter every time he tries to reach for the spears, only grabbing them after he says that he's not going to just do nothing or something to that extent. Heck, have Asuka not just attack relentlessly, but also show her softer side as a last-ditch effort to appeal to Shinji, maybe have her even apologize for how she treated him.
Really, just something to make the situation not be brought about by a lack of communication and reason, but instead come about because of Shinji's desperation. While what we got did attempt that, the way it was shown makes it seem more like Asuka and Kaworu didn't do enough to reason with him. Have it be more along the lines of this scene:
On another note, I'm still not sure how exactly Shinji was able to pilot Unit 13, unless Kaworu was manipulating it.
And no, I'm not buying that Rei was inside its core, considering Fuyutski's words. Eva Geeks is home to a whole bunch a wacky theories after all.
I agree with that.
I would guess Shinji could pilot 13 bc he was "synched" with Kaworu, and by that, with whoever was inside 13. Presumably all the piano playing had a purpose beyond conserving animation budget. It was kind funny that they were supposed to pilot it together and then Kaworu never did anything. They could have jammed a Rei clone in there also. Close enough, and they got spares.

@vandro I loved Episode III too.
"You can't change the world without getting your hands dirty."When I watched I knew full well what was goin' to go down. But then I was like "Anakin, no don't do that, noooooooooooooooo...." and like "Mace Windu? Not Mace Windu!" and then I was like "No, stop, that's padme." and then the final fight between Anakin and Obi-Wan felt really satisfying.
Episode III is indeed the strongest of the prequels.
That said, I hope 4.0 takes nods from Return Of The Jedi instead.
Eva-13 like Rei Q's Eva don't have AT-Fields, which means someone like Shinji should be able to pilot it. Well 13 did get a AT-Field once Fourth Impact happened though if I recall.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.@vandro Honestly, Palpatine was the best part of the movie.
Anakin versus Obi Wan was awesome but way too long. The ending was great though. "I HATE YOU!"
Now Yoda versus Palpatine. That was a great fight.
"Order 66"...no don't kill them.;____;

"You can't change the world without getting your hands dirty."I couldn't take any scene with Palpatine seriously. He was hilarious.
To be fair Palpatine is the embodiement of Evil Is Hammy
We weren't exactly meant to take him all that seriously anyway
