No 40K thread yet? I'm surprised. Nay, shocked, shocked I say to discover there's gambling going on in this establishment...
I'm eagerly anticipating the imminent 5th Edition release, personally, but I was interested to know if anyone here plays and has a differing opinion on it. There are certainly plenty of people out there who seem to think that 40K 4th edition "only just" came out and that a new edition isn't needed. Anyone?
Warhammer Fantasy (including Age of Sigmar and WFRP) has its own thread here.

A conversation yesterday has led to the rediscovery of the long-lost rules for Ork Monopoly.
- First turn and starting money are determined by a brawl; the winner goes first, and starting money is determined by picking up the teef afterwards.
- The banker is determined by another brawl, and may be re-determined with future brawls later in play. Should the banker appear to be giving the wrong change, particularly given the Orks' notably fumble-fingered grasp of counting, it should be corrected at once with a punch-up.
- Houses and hotels are referred to as "forts" and "big forts". Instead of rent, the cost of landing on a square with another player's fort on it is the amount you're paying the owner of the fort not to blow your piece up. This fee can be evaded with correct conduct in a squig-eating contest (grabbing the squig and throwing it at another player is not considered an automatic fail condition).
- All the pieces are cars or cannons. One or two Orks may choose the battleship; this is considered dangerously un-Orky unless the Ork is a shipboy, in which case it's still considered dangerously un-Orky but it's more fun to rib him about it.
- The winning player shall be the first player that wins.
Where's the Space Hulk piece?
I believe it was last seen being stuffed up Gribrik's nose during an argument over whether Gribrik had arrived on Free Parking or not.
I gotta say, all the new Thousand Son stuff looks fantastic.
The horn-nipples on Magnus's armor are a bit narmy, though.
"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."I'd like them a lot better if I didn't already have three full squads of Rubric Marines.
Well, now you can get some Scarab Terminators and Tzeenchian bird minotaurs to support them.
Hasn't Magnus been depicted with the nipple horns for a while now? i thought that was normal for him.
It's possible. It's just the first time I saw him.
"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."Man, if I had the time, patience, skills and money (though the time and money part should get easier, once I graduate in a year), I'd definitely go for a small Thousand Sons army.
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.Go to the Warhammer 40,000: Imperial Founders page and look at Magnus' picture. Magnus doesn't have nipple horns, but he does have giant tusk-looking things coming off of his armour on his chest.
Side note: If I ever get any of the jobs I'm applying for, I'm totally getting a Thousand Sons army together. Probably Pre-Heresy, since those Scarab Terminators are CLEARLY the Tartaros Pattern ones. Though, would the Rubric Marines work for Pre-Heresy Sons or no?
.... or I could do a Pre-Heresy and Post-Heresy Thousand Sons army, one being Chaos and the other that's Loyalist (so I can have 2 Space Marine Armies)

It would make sense for Thousand Sons to be Heresy era. Apparently its very hard to make more.
We interrupt our regularly scheduled 40K discussion for a very bad joke conceived by yours truly:
Q: What did the final report of Konrad Curze's assassination say?
A: "M'Shen accomplished."

Booo! {begins lobbing rotten tomatoes}
*bobs and weaves*
On-topic: On the Imperial Founders page, I've added Daemon!Magnus to his folder, and on the Chaos Marines page, I've swapped out the old Rubric Marine and Ahriman for their new models.
So, anyone saw wrath of magnus?
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"I linked all of the Thousand Son stuff a bit ago. I love the new models.
The bird/deamon close-combat things look interesting. I'd like to see what the new rules for the horrors and that are like as well.

They are Tzaangors, Tzeentchian Beastmen who were the original inhabitants of the Planet of Sorcerers, the Daemon World the Thousand Sons took as their base after the destruction of Prospero. They haven't been mentioned since 1st Edition so it is good to see them in the game once again and yes they are great models. I do wonder where they should go on the Character pages though: with the minor Chaos fractions Force, with the daemons on the Chaos Gods page or with the Thousand sons on the Chaos Marine page.
I saw the video explaining there fluff, but I didn't know they've been around since 1st edition. That's cool. They don't exactly fit in narratively with the rest of my force, but I'll think of a way to justify them somehow if there rules turn out ti be good.
Here is a piece of art for them back in 1st.◊ I do love the models myself and although I don't plan on a Thousand Sons Chaos army I may see if I can include them in my Mad Tzeentchian Sorcerer army I am thinking about. The background I have written for him is that he obsessed with mutants and possessed and has been creating hordes of monstrosities out of every race in the galaxy.

If they'd brought this stuff out only a couple of months earlier I might have gone for Thousand Sons as a primary force. Sadly, it came after I was already committed to the sons of Perturabo.
Sebastian, I'd put them on the minor factions page, and per your edits on the Chaos Marines page, I'd move Kor Phaeron and Erebus to the HH characters page and replace/expand their entries there if they already exist.
Erebus wasn't added as a character in the Horus Heresy though
?? I had never come accros him before the books (I don't remember him in the Bearers Index Astartes) and I don't think there is any info on his 41st millennium a tions, which is what those pages are mainly for.
(EDIT: Kor was in the article but again there is little info on his current actions and the vast majority of his development is, as far as I am aware, in the Heresy books)
Will do when I get the chance.
