@ Mr Matt: Well, as a band that falls someplace between Southern Rock, Blues Rock and Psychedelic Rock, they're not known for their really fast songs, though a few of their earlier ones are somewhat more upbeat. But they're a solid band- as are The Gun Club, Alice in Chains and Living Colour- seriously- eclectic, but a damn good collection.
Nine Inch Nails - "Happiness In Slavery" (A song so good we named a trope after it. Seriously though, this one's got a ton of hooks- great riffs on the guitar, synth and bass, and a highly memorable chorus. And it's pretty heavy- a solid 8, IMO. Classic. )

Confirmed Bachelors: the dramedy hit of 1883!Throbbing Gristle - "Hot On The Heels Of Love" (A pretty ahead-of-its-time precursor to Techno, House Music and Trance by the guys who pretty much invented Industrial, and probly one of their most accessible songs. These guys really went all over the place, musically, though even their most accessible work has an unnerving, vaguely unsavory feel to it. Great stuff, and 20 Jazz Funk Greats, the record it's from, not only has an awesome name, but its also their best album, IMO. )
Kevin Max — "Angel with No Wings"

Confirmed Bachelors: the dramedy hit of 1883!Skinny Puppy - "One Time One Place" (One of their better Humans Are Bastards songs- and they have many. Love the basslines on this one, and the way it goes from fairly clean and atmospheric during the verses, with that eerie synth texture in the background to aggressive and chaotic, with blasts of guitar noise during the chorus, and the machine gun samples during one part are damn cool too... )
Hideko Takamine - "Ginza Kankan Musume."
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."It's either that one or "Persuasion" that is my favourite TG track. I also think it was then and Cabaret Voltaire who invented Industrial, not just TG. My opinion, based on Simon Reynolds books on Post-Punk.
New Order - "Best & Marsh"
Billy Childs, Steve Wilson, Susan Tedeschi - "Gibsom Street"

A cover of the Laura Nyro tune, hey? I'd recommend listening to the original.
Afrika Bambaataa - "Tension"
Yeah, Childs did a Laura Nyro cover album with a crapload of special guests. I think I've heard the original somewhere or other, but I don't actually remember it...
Living Colour - "Love Rears Its Ugly Head"
Roy Smeck - "12th Street Rag."
Lovin' me that Hawaiian guitar...
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."Vertu - Topasio, Part Two
A Return To Forever side project with a guy who got kicked out of friggin Poison, but Kotzen does quite alright for himself. Violin player steals the show though.

Paul Whiteman and His Orchestra - "From Monday On."
Mel Brooks once called this the greatest record ever made, and I'm hesitant to disagree...

Alice in Chains - I Stay Away
