Hello nerd of chaos. I see you like the weird fat-monsters from Tate-era Doctor Who. I think this pleases me.

Hello all! The name's Rabbidking, and I'm relatively new to the TV Tropes family. I've been reading some of the articles on the site, and figured I just had to try this place out. Hopefully I don't screw up too badly...tongue

Well Rabbidking, I know this is probably not within my power to do so, but welcome to TV Tropes! I do hope you find the whole site as thrilling as you hope, and don't sweat it too much if you make a few mistakes. Even I am still having a couple bouts of wrestling with the troper page of my own.

(Several posts ago, like two pages ago, If games count as works, I'd say La-Mulana, Dwarf Fortress, Nightshade, Hunt the Wumpus, and many games made by Sunsoft, Rare, or Konami would be my favorite works.)

Welcome Rabbidking. Nice to have you here. Don't worry about screwing up too much (at least on the forum side); we're all friendly here. I think Rigo ate the pizza that was in the foyer, so I'll have to get a new one.

-Ahem- Hope has a policy of kidnapping tropers and forcing them to join his abomination of a tree adopting other tropers and adding them to his family tree. So yeah.

I guess we could go... wherever we please.

The use of quotation marks is advised when talking about this "family tree" as the term is used rather loosely here and is as much a tree as Cthulhu is a squid...

Well, since all humans are very closely related, I think it's fair to call it a family tree without the quotation marks; but then again, I wouldn't put quotation marks around that phrase when referring to humans, horses and lions; so maybe I'm just looking at the really big picture.

And immediately after posting that, I realise that it's still not a proper family tree because the connections are neither accurate nor even realistic. So, yeah. It's not a proper family tree.

I rather meant it because a tree usually gets more spread at the top and branches out.

Hopey's... thing is more fond of Alien Geometries in this case.

I'm not disputing that. Since this discussion is not at all pointless, I think we should - nay, must - point out that there are also other features of trees that are not present in Hopey's "family tree." For instance, I haven't seen literally thousands of individuals representing dozens of similar but also different species of Hopey's "family tree" every year of my life, even in television.

Thanks so much for the warm welcome, everybody! Looking forward to meeting fellow Tropers and joing/being forced into a brand new family. I look forward to this madness you speak of, Daydreamer. Now. let's hope I can dredge up something to use in either the Tropes, the Pantheon, or whatever else is on this site (haven't had much time to explore fully yet, what with a little something called COLLEGE to worry about.)
