This is the thread for discussion of The Order of the Stick plot, characters, etc. We have a separate thread for discussing game rules and mechanics. Excessive rules discussions here may be thumped as off-topic.

What exactly could Celia do to help here?
I don't think Rich is cruel enough to use the Final Death trope on any of the sympathetic characters. Sylvia is probably going to survive the events of the series. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if she doesn't show up at all until the end.

Slyvia??
The universe is under no obligation to make sense to us.So... are we at the part where V shows up and hits Crystal with Disintegrate or something yet?
It would probably fail for some reason.
I don't know any reason why it would fail, but it will.
Alternatively, V will show up and hit Crystal with the worst possible spell and make her stronger, or hit her resistances, and she's KO V before the latter can rectify that mistake.
One Strip! One Strip!Golems are immune to Disintegrate. The better strategy is to hit them with conjuration spells like Orb of Acid that don't allow spell resistance because they're conjuring up actual nonmagical acid to throw at the target. Of course, conjuration is one of V's banned schools.
Rhymes with "Protracted."Forcecage, then.
Aren't Flesh Golems vulnerable to fire and ice? V has plenty of spells that use that.
Yeah, I thought V gave up all the actually useful spells for a bunch of bang-bang-boom-boom stuff?
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.One possible way that Haley gets out of this without having some caster show up and save her: she's able to spin that "nothing but pain" comment to get Crystal mad at Buzzok for inflicting this state on her. I don't know the current D&D rules for golems, but old-school ones have a chance of breaking control and running amok against their creator's wishes..
Crystal would still murder Haley first. She hates Haley.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Bozzok likely has some form of control over Crystal, as golems are keyed to follow the instructions of particular individuals. Even an intelligent flesh golem should still have that restriction; she could wreck Bozzok's day just as easily as Haley's.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"From a logical standpoint, nothing. I was just throwing out some examples.
That being said, Rich could surprise us by having her show up, with Haley thinking she'll make things worse (or get killed) only for her to comically score a lucky hit that downs Crystal instantly.
That's totally unlikely. The best thing she could try to do is negotiate with Bozzok again, and that will fail because Haley already burned him on the last deal, meaning that he's unlikely to want to strike any kind of arrangement.
I'm fully aware she's useless. I just felt like speculating.
One Strip! One Strip! She didn't even deal with Bozzok last time. She dealt with the halfling accountant (Hank, I think) while Bozzok was frozen.
Oh right.
Well, like I said, I don't expect it to happen. Just tossing out ideas.
One Strip! One Strip!Could Haley lift Crystal up and then throw her off into the water? Can flesh golems swim?
Crystal is undoubtedly too heavy for it to work; plus Haley would need to win a grapple check, which she ain't doing against that thing's Strength score (21 base).
Also, Swim checks are based on Strength, so golems can do it pretty well.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Would drowning even be a severe problem? I doubt Golems need to breath.
Obviously, no. They have no sustenance requirements (yay conservation of energy) so they could survive just as easily on the Moon or at the bottom of the ocean as on dry land.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Wouldn't they be crushed by the pressure underwater, though?
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Not necessarily. They have no internal organs to damage, no air to generate embolisms, no heart to pump blood. They would be crushed by the pressure in much the same way as a brick would.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"If Haley somehow got her hands on those arrows she lost in the beginning of the fight, would that be something that could stop Crystal?
There's no way for her to do that of course, but those arrows the only weapons that have been tried where it was ineffective due to Haley choosing the worst possible time to have a poor aim as opposed to actually being incapable of hurting Crystal.
One Strip! One Strip!Adamantine arrows don't exactly grow on trees, but yes, if she could recover them, she would be able to bypass Crystal's DR. Not enough to kill her, probably — a flesh golem has 9d10+30 base hit points, plus 15d10 more if Crystal's class levels add to the golem's base HD.
Oh, and it's 8 feet tall and 500 lbs, so there is no way Haley is lifting it, let alone throwing it.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"
Yeah.
Like I said, the frustration for me has been how the plot has been going out of its way to ensure that every attempt at stopping Crystal Golem has failed. Even running away was screwed up. We know someone is going to arrive to stop Crystal, but knowing that doesn't make Haley being railroaded into one course of action any less frustrating.
Maybe they'll surprise us and Celia will show up......and finally play that card about how dead is dead for her.
I don't think Rich is that mean though.
One Strip! One Strip!
