This is the thread for discussion of The Order of the Stick plot, characters, etc. We have a separate thread for discussing game rules and mechanics. Excessive rules discussions here may be thumped as off-topic.

It was pretty cool, but never really went anywhere. It had an awesome premise, but no actual plot.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Everyone remembers 'Jack and the Rave'.
Creed of the Happy Pessimist:Always expect the worst. Then, when it happens, it was only what you expected. All else is a happy surprise.
Forgot to comment on this one.
I'm convinced Haley could convince Gods to become Atheists..

One Strip! One Strip! That would probably require an Epic use of Diplomacy... or Bluff, more likely. It's a bit beyond her now, but maybe in the future...

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I think it depends on how you Rules Lawyer it, right? You could swing it as just trying to convince someone to change their religion. Which wouldn't be hard.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."But doing that to a god? No sane DM would ever let you get away with it.
Again, we're talking about the difference between what the letter of the rules could possibly allow you to get away with if you squint hard and get very creative, and what the rules are intended to allow you to do.
Rules lawyering it wouldn't help in this case, though, since I just remembered that Epic Bluff counts as a mind-affecting ability and gods are immune to those.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I don't think I've ever met a DM who was sane.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Is an insecure god an atheist?
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Whoops.
Hey, look. We live in internet culture. Being insane is a compliment here.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."DC 80 athletics check lets you climb through an opening that is physically to small for your head. That's the ballpark where impossibility stops being impossible.
You can't bypass immunity to mind-affecting effects with a skill check, though. The rules do have limits, and gods cannot be Epic Bluffed. They could be bluffed mundanely, but their Sense Motive checks tend to be absurdly high.
Edit: In fact, deities above a certain rank automatically get perfect success (equivalent to a free "take 20") on any skill check that they make unless it's opposed by a deity of equal or higher rank.
For whatever it's worth, you might be able to Epic Bluff a demigod into renouncing their religion, at least for the duration of the suggestion that the skill implants.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Dungeons and Dragons Means Never Having to Say You're Kidding
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Pssh. You say that, but then I get shanked because I thought one class was better than another.
Never take chances with any fandom.
One Strip! One Strip!Fandoms are dumb. What I do is just find people who like the things I like for the same reasons I like them and ignore everyone else.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."But you'll never have any fun that way!
Now if you'll excuse me, I have an angry tirade to add to the Shipping Discussion page...
Is atheism even a thing in DND? The existence of the gods is common knowledge and it's easy to verify that it's true.
Atheism in Dn D wouldn't really be not believing in gods so much as choosing not to worship any.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."That's misotheism, which is my actual faith.

Well yeah. The power and usefulness of the classes in DND is objectively calculable. You're only allowed to like some class more than the others, but which one is better is a measured fact.
Details on ''Blood Runs in the Family''
Bit too pricey to get at launch though.

CM Dates; CM Pending; CM Drafts
...it got four seasons.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.
