It's all those explosions.

I didn't think much of the strip's "punchline", but the cadence of a phrase isn't very egregious when we've already had Durkon's confusion - in the previous book - between windy ("lots of wind") and windy ("lots of twists and turns") despite the characters only having heard the words spoken, and the words sounding completely different.

Although that one was lampshaded and less plot-relevant.

New strip. More Durkon backstory exposition. Nothing particularly interesting is happening here.

BTW, something occurred to me. In Strip 954, it's stated that gods can allow followers of other gods to use the first god's magic. Okay, fine, but what about hijacking another god's cleric?

Seems that one who's fallen to undeath is fair game.

Durkon's getting more sassy.

"Besides, if you didn't want your private memories ransacked, you shouldn't have formed them in the first place."

Oh boy.

I got the feeling this was a bit of a reference to that photo-hacking thing that happened recently.

Anyway, nothing too special about this strip, but learning a bit more about Durkon is interesting.

A bunch of celebs nude photos got hacked off the servers of some storing/sharing service and dumped over the net. Cue the usual media storm.

I'm going to head this off at the pass and say that if you have questions or issues about the hacking of said photos, you should probably take it to PMs.

Short explanation: a popular argument both in this case and in similar events is, "If they didn't want the photos being stolen and leaked all over the internet, they should never have had those private photos in the first place." That's what is being parodied here.

Also highly reminiscent of every rape victim who's been told they were asking for it by wearing the wrong clothes, dancing with the wrong guy, etc.

Kind of interesting in that the spirit doesn't really get how all this stuff works at all. Helps when considering Malack's behavior.

Tho Malack had hundreds of years of experience to clarify things..

If there's any doubt about this being a reference to the stolen photos, check out the strip's title: "Just Think How Many Times He's Seen Himself Naked".

It is indeed a reference, but there is a substantial difference. Memories are not something you voluntarily evoke. Sure you can evoke them if you want, but other times they just come whether you want it or not, and I think this is the case with Durkon.

On the other hand, the naked photos—unless they are paparazzi—are definitely voluntary. If they are paparazzi though, then the whole argument is completely invalid.

Reminds me of a particular Chopping Block panel, whose text describes how many hoops Butch jumped through to break into a position where he could peer into a girl locker room, and him being appalled at their lack of decency.
