YMMV / World's Wildest Police Videos

  • Narm: Some of the helicopter voices sound more like sports commentators instead of news reporters with their over-the-top reactions on crashes or close calls.
  • Nightmare Fuel: The series certainly doesn't sugarcoat just how dangerous and terrifying police work can get. This is lampshaded both by the show's title and by its host, a former officer who had Seen It All over the course of his law enforcement career.
  • Spiritual Successor: Disorderly Conduct: Video on Patrol, a series shown on Spike TV and narrated by Robert Patrick featuring similar recordings of police work.
  • Values Dissonance: Since the earlier seasons were produced before police corruption and militarization became a major issue in American society, it can sometimes be a bit jarring for modern viewers to hear Sheriff Bunnell speak of them as an almost purely positive force for the community or praise certain departments for being tough on crime.
  • Values Resonance: At the same time, Sheriff Bunnell periodically reminds the audience that Police Brutality is never an acceptable practice, and that excessive force is to be avoided whenever possible. Considering that other, similar series such as COPS (1989) have often been accused of glorifying such behavior, this is a very relevant message in this day and age.
