- Ass Pull: The true ending came out of nowhere for some.
- Creepy Awesome: All the kids.
- Creepy Cute: All the kids.
- Cry for the Devil: The kids' sad backstories, and Mary's seemingly troubled life.
- Difficulty Spike: Around 3AM, but any hour can be the turning point for a player.

- Evil Is Cool: All the kids.
- Fan Wank: Plenty of fanfics try to explain the pre-game, and some explore the post-game.

- No Yay: Most ships in this game are incestuous, which many find uncomfortable.
- Play the Game, Skip the Story: The lore may not interest some and they may be entirely focused on the gameplay.
- Unnecessary Makeover: All of the No Way Out designs. Why did they change them?
- The Woobie: Could apply to all of the kids, but seems to be popular for Tom.
