• Common Knowledge: It's often stated by second-hand sources that Bradley was the "real" first Captain America, or that he was the last survivor of the testing phase of the Super-Soldier Super Serum formula. Neither assertion is correct. Bradley and his fellow unfortunates were test subjects — but for a project to recreate the Super Serum after it was destroyed and its creator assassinated. This is noted in-universe, with Bradley being shown a few months after his transformation reading one of the in-universe propaganda comics created about Steve Rogers, which is said to be over a year old. The confusion is understandable, given the confusing usage of "Dr. Reinstein" and the fact that the author did apparently initially want to Retcon Bradley as having been (in the army's eyes) Steve Rogers' disposable prototype.
