• Broken Base
  • Hero 6.1 has Taylor travel to Africa to beat Moord Nag. All the dialogue is in correctly translated Afrikaans. Some fans disliked this simply because they couldn't read the dialogue and had to rely on unreliable online translators to understand the chapter. Others liked the authenticity pointing out that an African warlord probably wouldn't understand english as well as showing Taylor's Omniglot abilities. A third group appreciated the effort the author put into the translation but were happy when a translated chapter was released later that day.
  • The Slaughterhouse 9 arc. Many think that the S9 are acting above their abilities since the plan appears to use Kryptonian DNA for something. While Bonesaw has proven in Worm canon, she needed far more time and resources than she has in this fic. Things got so bad that a moderator had to temporarily shut down the thread.
  • Emma being ignored after Taylor starts heroing. People see it as out of character that Taylor ignore her best friend while others point out that Taylor is very busy and Emma seems to understand.
  • Cauldron in general (and Doctor Mother in specific) continuing to be a bunch of colossal Jerkasses hiding behind a Well-Intentioned Extremist mask (their idea to make first contact with Taylor is kidnapping Amy and continuing to reassure Taylor that she's safe when 1) Taylor sees it obvious that Amy is being used as leverage to prevent her from (presumably) killing everybody and 2) Amy not being at the site of the latest Endbringer attack probably killed a lot of people via inaction-to not mention insisting in asking for Kryptonian tech when there's at best hours before Scion attacks (and thus no time at all for reverse-engineering) and they keep dodging around Taylor's question about whether or not the tech will be used to attack Scion only) brought some discussion to Spacebattles about whether or not Cauldron is in the right about... well, anything, or just being absurdly hypocritical, treating one of their best shots at hurting Scion in such a stupid way. And then there were readers who wondered if the totally unnuanced portrayal they received means the author is just bashing them outright and has no interest in giving them a fair hearing.
  • Dragon guilt tripping Armsmaster into telling her Taylor's secret. Some fans think that it is in character for Dragon since Armsmaster was showing stress levels and signs of being mastered. Other fans dislike her for intruding on Taylor's privacy and guilting Armsmaster into it.
  • Armsmaster being renamed Batman. Most people don't care since Armsmaster's personality didn't change much and find it funny that Armsmaster himself hates the name while Taylor and Dragon tease him. Others however are sick of Batman showing up in some form or another.
• Old Shame: Kind of. Thuktun doesn't regret having written The Last Daughter but nowadays he considers the story full of flaws that he looked to correct when writing The Girl of Tomorrow.
