• Anti-Climax Boss: Ballser, mostly because he was made with the noob boss sprite. His patterns are easy to predict as a result.
• Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: If Luigi has the Athletic Peach in Darkave, he can reach an area similar to the beginning area and enter the pipe. It leads to an edit of the Testing Area Dummied Out in the original Super Mario World. At the end, there's a pipe that leads to a bizarre area filled with Triangular Blocks and falling Green Apples. The Key use sound repeatedly plays over and over again in this section. In one of the doors, Luigi can fruitlessly pursue a Moon until a pity 1-up Mushroom shows up. Luigi can touch the Moon and get sent back to the entrance area.
• Difficulty Spike: The first difficulty spike occurs at "Dat Bass!" The level has Boss Bass, but this time Boss Bass is immune to fire, so Fire Mario can't kill him.
• That One Boss: The Big Boo of Chateau de la Terre is hard because of the limited throw blocks, contact damage from the Big Boo and the smasher covering a large portion of the boss arena.
• That One Level:
  • Flashing Forest. Not only is the color-changing background annoying, most of the level's puzzles are unfair to solve on your own and require things like jumping on random blocks to change them or searching for random Invisible Blocks.
  • Chateau du Vent. The wind tries pushing Mario to the left, which makes moving to the right much more difficult, especially with obstacles in the way.
  • You know there's something wrong when Yosu no Tera's P-Balloon section makes Tubular look easier in comparison. Though you get infinite balloon time, the section is longer, has more stuff to dodge, and forces Mario to be small.
  • Hell Ship in the Sky is difficult because of the Homing Pidgit Bills. They're fired by the ship's cannons and they will always aim for Mario's position, no matter what. Later on, Spikitus start throwing them. Another one joins and makes things worse.
  • Spikitu Castles 1+2 in Something Else are difficult because of the Spikitus. They are immune to Luigi's arsenal of tricks.
