  • Harsher in Hindsight:
    • The timeline's Hurricane Harvey was planned in early May of 2017 to hit in the 2004 Hurricane Season as per Word of God, but then the Real Life Hurricane Harvey popped up as the timeline Hurricane Harvey update hit Texas....
    • The Valentine's Day school shooting in 2001 in the timeline becomes even more creepy and horrible when exactly 17 years apart in Real Life, a school shooting at a high school in Florida basically followed the exact formula, in terms of shooter, death toll, who died and weapons.
    • The timeline's version of Final Fantasy VII uses the Relationship Values between Tifa, Aerith, or Barrett with Cloud to determine who dies at Sephiroth's hands (or in Barret's case, Shinra's hands). In the real world, similar variables would be used in Bethesda's Starfield to determine which one of the Player Character's companions die during the main quest.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight:
    • The Jim Henson Company did FMV sequences for the Super Nintendo CD version of Star Fox. Then at the Real Life 2015 E3, we see Star Fox Muppets!
    • This timeline's version of the Forza Motorsport franchise is explicitly stated to be the successor to the Project Gotham Racing series (effectively butterflying away PGR3 and PGR4). The map in Forza Horizon 4 not only features Edinburgh (one of the cities in PGR2) as a drivable area, with both games having a circuit centered around the Princes Street Gardens and Edinburgh Castle and with near-identical layouts to boot, but one of the chapters in the LaRacer@Horizon story directly references PGR2, with the player going to Edinburgh to set some skill scores using a Ferrari F355, a car that was a mainstay in every single entry of the PGR series. Forza Horizon 5 also makes a reference to PGR. As per the pre-release FAQ, "A social currency awarded between players for positive acts, unlocking flairs that can be attached to a player’s label and visible to others." is known as "Kudos", which is also the term used to refer to skill score in the PGR games.
    • Word of God claimed that they always planned to have Cloud Strife playable in the first installment of this timeline's Super Smash Bros. after he was announced to become DLC for Smash 4 in real life.
      • Likewise, the announcement that Ridley becoming a newcomer in TTL's Super Smash Bros. Clash around nine months before a certain reveal for OTL's Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Not only that, but Simon Belmont was an unlockable character in the original Super Smash Bros. for TTL, three years before he was added to Ultimate. Finally, Sora being revealed to be in Clash ITTL almost four years before his reveal as the last DLC character for Ultimate.
      • The "2016 In Review" update revealed that the final DLC character for Super Smash Bros. Reality's first season of DLC was Heihachi Mishima. Eight months later, a Tekken representative did get into Ultimate...but it was Heihachi's son, Kazuya, who received that honor.
    • In the November 1st posting of this timelime, the second generation Pokémon games were revealed to be called Sun and Moon. Then in real life, on February 26/27, 2016, Pokémon Sun and Moon were announced as the next official core games.
    • The August 1999 post made on December 31, 2015 revealed that Drew Barrymore is the host of Late Night in 2012. In real life, Barrymore launched her own eponymous Talk Show in 2020, albeit in daytime rather than late at night, and despite struggling initially, it would eventually find its footing and become one of the most popular daytime talk shows in the US.
    • TTL's version of Final Fantasy VIII is a combination of OTL's VIII and Xenogears, with one major change being that the Guardian Forces of VIII are now Mechas akin to the Gears from OTL's Xenogears. Years later, Final Fantasy XVI would similarly turn classic Final Fantasy summons into transformations more akin to mechas than normal summons.
