• Distanced from Current Events: According to the guest writer Siegfried 1337, he asked to not include Kentaro Miura's death in the Kadokawa Massacre because of how he actually died around 2 months before the update was published.
• In Memoriam: The May 1997 update, posted on July 15, 2015, features a sizable segment involving Satoru Iwata and Masahiro Sakurai, in response to the former's death on July 11, 2015.
• What Could Have Been: The November 2017 update included some differences compared to the original draft:
  • Naoko Takeuchi and Kentaro Miura would have been victims of the Kadokawa Massacre. Miura was spared due to dying sometime before the update, and the guest writer thought it would've been in poor tastes to write his death so soon after his Real Life death.
  • The culprit would have been none other than Trey Eric Sesler, also known as Mr. Anime in OTL, who would have actually gone through shooting a school ITTL^note  He never did this OTL because it felt "too real" for him, but here, the stigmatization against autistic people in this world would actually lead him to go through with it before moving to different cities and becoming a member of Channel Awesome where he would amass a audience, though some members would note his sociopathic tendencies, eventually leading up to the Kadokawa Massacre. RySenkari and Nivek would later agree with the guest writer to replace it with an original character due to Ry not wanting to introduce further controversy within the timeline^note  Although a subtle nod to this idea was included when a news report indicated that Kensaka Haku was also known as "Anime-Kun", when translated to English, meant "Mr. Anime"..
