- Alternative Character Interpretation: The Pit. Is it actively malicious, enthralling people so it can eat them? Is it angry at having a giant stent jammed down its throat for thirty years? Does it even realise people were hurt in the disaster? Is it even sentient? As all the lore is presented from the perspective of an average person in-universe, we may never know.
- Genius Bonus: One offhand mention from a fictional magazine, Sanctify,◊ says that a rabbi declared eating Pit meat to be non-kosher. Surprisingly, this makes sense - Kosher laws prohibit Jews from eating both bottom-feeding animals and the hindquarters of animals. The pit is probably a bottom-feeder, and nobody knows where its hindquarters are.
