YMMV / Metal Arms: Glitch in the System

Go To

  • Awesome Moment: Hacking and taking control of the general is certainly a highlight.
  • Awesome Music: A number of tracks are great beats to listen on during your time:
    • Hold Your Ground, played during the demos and large-scale battle against hordes of Mil soldiers.
    • RAT Race, while going through driving an battle with high-speed vehicles Mad Max style.
  • Complete Monster: Dr. Exavolt is the real leader behind the nefarious General Corrosive and the tyranny of the Milbots, enslaving and killing countless Droids all to evolve the Droids to his own liking. Pretending to be a hostage, Exavolt tricked Glitch into "saving" him to get to their base, revealing the location to his army to kill and enslave the Droid Rebellion, then hiding to his base in space, preparing the steps to conquer all of Iron Star. After Glitch invades his lair and takes over Corrosive himself, Exavolt sends endless Milbots to their death to kill Corrosive before using it as distraction to escape, vowing revenge on Glitch.
  • Cult Classic: The game still maintains a small, but active fanbase for those who grew up with it in the early 2000’s.
  • Demonic Spiders
    • The Zombiebots. Fast and lethal, they'll tear you apart in seconds if they get close and even when you blow them apart they'll reform if you don't destroy them properly. Especially terrifying when there's more than one or you're distracted by other enemies.
    • At the point where you start encountering them in numbers, Guards will ruin your day, as they have a speed advantage and a hugely powerful melee attack, as well as health that means you lack a sufficiently powerful weapon to put them down quickly. In fact, their combat styles resemble those of Zombiebots, only they're even harder to dismember.
    • The Titans. Big, hulking robots armed with dual chain guns, a rocket launcher and enough mass to squish small droids, these enemies are very troublesome, especially when you first encounter them. Once you've gathered the beneficial upgrades needed to fight them, they start to show up with energy shields and the Level 3 Rocket Launcher.
  • Good Bad Bugs: If you use the Wrench item just before colliding with a door or wall, Glitch will, well, glitch and clip through the object when he reassembles. Through this bug, one can clear Unhandled Exception without having to go through the tests or even find the chip you're required to get. What stops this from being a Game-Breaker is that you can only do this in levels with the Wrench, and the game is programmed to remove the Wrench from your inventory in any other level.
  • That One Boss: The Zombiebot King. Slower but more durable than the regular zombiebots, the robot needs to be stunned in order to lob a Coring Charge into its mouth. You also only have five minutes to win, or else Mozer gets destroyed.
