• Unintentional Period Piece: The various franchises involved in the crossovers, like Gen¹³ and Cleopatra 2525 firmly date G.O.L.D. to the late nineties and early aughts, when those franchises were at the peak of their popularity. Legacy! also dates itself to the early aughts because of Green Hornet musing that she hopes to one day marry her partner Kata when it becomes legal; Massachusetts legalized gay marriage in 2004.
• Values Dissonance: The series is very much a product of the Internet's laissez faire attitudes in the late nineties and early aughts, particularly in its writing explicit lesbian sex and bondage scenes for the Male Gaze.
