YMMV / Genseishin Justiriser

Go To

  • Anti-Climax Boss: Even though he gave the Justirisers plenty of trouble beforehand, Kaiser Hades gets defeated pretty easily once Justi Kaiser is awakened.
  • Awesome Music: Like Gransazer before it, Justirisers has a lot of memorable songs. Standout examples include the following.
    • Riser Glen's theme aka the epic rock music that plays during the recap of each episode.
    • "Sponsor Base" is the brief catchy standby jingle that plays whenever the Justirisers transform.
    • "Dormant Kaiser" is Kaiser Hades's foreboding piano leitmotif.
    • Then there's Demon Knight's theme, the ominous track which plays when he faces off against the Justirisers.
    • Not to mention Majin Daruga's theme, which like his brother's theme is a very haunting and imposing track.
    • "Deadly Sword" is an awesome rock song which usually plays whenever something really epic is happening.
    • "Riser Shirogane" is a suitably epic song that accompanies Shirogane's transformation.
  • Cliché Storm: Unlike Gransazer, Justirisers plays just about every Sentai trope (teenagers recruited to fight an Evil Overlord who was sealed by a previous hero in the past) unapologetically straight. It still works.
  • Complete Monster: This sibling duo:
    • Kaiser Hades is an intergalactic warlord bent on conquering the universe and crushing the two planets that stand in his way, Earth and Riser. After destroying Riser, Hades wipes the memories of its hero Rigel to turn him into his loyal minion. Defeated and imprisoned on Earth by the Riser heroine Nolun, Hades resumes his conquest once he's unsealed in the present day, during which he subjects entire cities to repeated kaiju onslaughts and kills his own minions to inspire fear in his other subordinates. For his final plan, Hades attempts to destroy the Earth using the Magneshieldar, a weapon which first emits a powerful shockwave to raze everything on a planet's surface before drilling to the planet's core and causing it to implode on itself, to ensure the world is rendered completely lifeless. After capturing Mio, Hades traps her inside the Majin Statue and tries to trick her Love Interest Shinya into killing her.
    • Majin Daruga, later known as Dark Demon God Kurogane, is the older brother of Kaiser Hades and leader of the Daruga Imperial Army, as well as the one truly responsible for Planet Riser's destruction. Invading and destroying planets across cosmos, Daruga turns his army to Earth after taking an interest in the Justirisers' power. After stealing Shiro Jinno's Riser Power, the newly empowered Kurogane sends hordes of Bulgarios to lay waste to Tokyo and destroy everything in sight, in order to distract the Justirisers while he charges his Gigatron Cannon to destroy the planet. When the Gigatron Cannon is blown up, Kurogane assumes his gigantic true form and goes on a rampage, intent on ravaging Earth so he can rebuild it into the seat of his new empire.
  • Epileptic Trees: While Daruga only appears in Justirisers, a mystical artifact called the "Daruga Tablet" pops up in Seven Star Fighting God Guyferd, another Toku series by Toho. Coincidence?
  • Evil Is Cool: Kurogane, who has a sleek design and makes for a formidable villain with how he effortlessly delivers repeated beatdowns to both the Justirisers and their mecha, and generally comes out of every scene a total badass.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight:
  • No Problem with Licensed Games: Genseishin Justirisers: Souchaku Chikyuu no Senshitachi, a video game adaptation which loosely follows the first Story Arc, is a decent if simplistic Beat 'em Up.
  • Retroactive Recognition: Demon Knight is Lock Dealer Sid.
