YMMV / Ed, Edd n Eddy S1E6 "A Pinch to Grow an Ed"

• Accidental Aesop:
  • Sometimes a bullying victim will bite back.
  • Don't pick on someone over their height.
  • Or, more alternatively, the moral can at best be seen as "Don't become a bully if you've been bullied yourself" or, at worst, if you're being bullied for something you can't control like your height you should just accept it.
• Designated Villain: Eddy is punished for using his boots to exact revenge on the Cul De Sac kids who mocked his size. While he shouldn't have done that, it is kinda cruel to him to be punished by being made fun of yet again at the end of the episode by getting dressed as (and getting treated like) a baby. After all, he was the victim rather than the perpetrator as the kids were the ones who mocked him first while, at the beginning of the episode, he was either trying to hang out with the other kids or just trying to mind his own business.
• Franchise Original Sin: The first episode where the sadistic tendencies of the show started to show up, with one of the Eds, Eddy, being punished despite not really deserving it. In this episode at the very least, it could be argued that he took his retribution against the other kids too far, but even then, they were the ones who picked on Eddy for his height in the first place.
• Unintentionally Unsympathetic: The episode frames the kids as being sympathetic once Eddy starts using the shoes to bully them. However, while he may have gone too far in bullying them, it's still hard to feel sorry for them given they were the ones to bully him in the first place.
• The Woobie: Eddy. He suffers a lot of Height Angst, due to being mocked relentlessly by the other kids, and locks himself away out of shame.
