• Fridge Brilliance: Dick figures Howard will wait till he has a board meeting and makes an announcement to his shareholders, and he won't even know until afterwards how much he's been screwed. That is exactly what Howard does; just not the way Dick thought it would turn out..
• Magnificent Bastard: Howard Tully is the elegant, posh CEO of cosmetics company Burkett & Randle, who sets about ruining his rival Dick Garsik. Intentionally baiting a trap to take in two hapless spies, Ray Koval and Claire Stenwick, Howard feeds them false information about a miracle cure for baldness he's working on in order to get them interested in stealing it and giving it to Dick. In reality, the cure is fake. Howard plays them by faking methods to keep them interested sets up them to steal it without them being aware he meant for them to do that. The baldness cure is then given to Dick who proudly announces his "discovery". This leads to his financial ruin and allows Howard to triumph. Courteous, elegant and even enough of a good sport to thank the spies he fooled with some champagne he bought, Howard shows the power of duplicity.
