• Americans Hate Tingle: While the Japanese part of the fandom had a mostly positive reception towards the teaser trailer due to its callbacks and tone closer to the original Dragon Ball, the Western fans weren't so impressed. They had expected an Animated Adaptation of the Moro and Granolah arcs from Dragon Ball Super (and to a lesser degree adapting the Broly and Super Hero plots, of which said arcs are set in-between), as well as negative comparisons to Dragon Ball GT based on the plot's details being a retread of Goku's de-aging but now as the actual plot, with everyone in the cast getting de-aged. However, with the passing of Akira Toriyama on March 1st, 2024, which led it to become one of the last Dragon Ball projects with his involvement, initial western reception grew more positive for the same reasons as its reception in Japan, and instead many became hyped to watch it, just to honour him one last time. The fact that Toriyama was passionate with the series prior to his death helps.
• Memetic Mutation: Within moments of the series's confirmation, fans have immediately compared it to Spinoff Babies shows like Muppet Babies (1984), either jokingly or derisively.
  • Many jokes have also popped up involving Kid Goku and Kid Vegeta fighting over kid-related trivial stuff, such as toys, video games, sippy cups, ect.
  • Android 18's shocked reaction upon her being revealed to getting de-aged back to a kid, basically sums up the initial reaction of the Western fanbase.
  • Another joke has also spawned with the reveal that Goten, Trunks and to a lesser degree Marron are de-aged back to babies in DAIMA after just recently getting aged up to teenagers in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero (with teen Marron only showing up in the Manga adaptation of the film), with many comparing it to Toriyama pulling a Reverse-Uno card on them to ensure that they stay young forever. This has even spilled over to darker jokes of how Pan and Bulla (whom were both toddlers as of Super Hero, with the former just starting kindergarten) are now non-existent sperm.
  • There's also jokes about how Master Roshi (who goes from a perverted Dirty Old Man to a possible equally perverted child) won't be able to pull off the same tricks without getting sent to timeout.
  • "Well, you guys wanted GT again."^ExplanationGiven the fandom rivalry between GT and Super, fans of Super were quick to mock GT fans that they are the reason Goku has become a kid yet again.
• Moe: To be expected with Goku and the gang being de-aged back to their youth in the trailer. With special points going to Bulma, Chi-Chi, and Android 18 getting outright adorable kid redesigns, making them look far more adorable and cuddly than their grown-up counterparts. Even the tougher-looking characters such as Vegeta and Piccolo look adorable as kids.
• Tainted by the Preview: The reveal Goku would be aged down again immediately got cries of people predicting this would end up being GT 2.0 with all that entails, despite the fact that only one trailer had been revealed so far.
