  • Captain Obvious Reveal: The reveal that Erika is the third Key Guardian. She was so secretive about their identity and never let them and the party meet that it came as no surprise when it was actually her the whole time.
  • Friendly Fandoms: With Loomian Legacy, due to them both being Spiritual Successors of a Roblox Mon game that got taken down by a copyright claim from Nintendo around the same time.
  • Game-Breaker:
    • Girasera. It has access to two entry hazard moves: Lingering Poison and (formerly) Entangling Vines. What makes Girasera so frustrating to deal with is that all of Girasera's moves can deal super-effective damage against all Doodles that can remove these hazards, discouraging them from swapping in. Lingering Poison can be removed if a Poison-type Doodle enters the battlefield; however, Girasera can use its Earth-type coverage move Rusty Roots to hit Poison-types for super-effective damage. Shifting Winds is another way to remove hazards from the field, but common users such as Grufflin and defensive Voltatoo are hit hard by Girasera's Poison moves. Lastly, Water-types that remove hazards with Wave Shot can be hit hard by either Plant or Poison moves. To top it all off, Girasera has the ability Refresh, healing it every time it switches in, granting it phenomenal longevity. Even if one managed to remove Girasera's hazards, Girasera could easily swap right back in and set them back up.
    • Groato. It's very bulky with high HP and Magical Defense stats. While its physical defense leaves a little to be desired, Groato can use the move Fatten Up to boost it, making it unbreakable by both physical and magical attacks. It also has Heal to restore its health. But what truly makes it ridiculous is its (former) move Shield Bash, which deals more damage based on the user's Defense. Thanks to its boosted Defense from Fatten Up, Groato can dish out crazy amounts of damage for a supposed Stone Wall. Moreover, because Shield Bash doesn't depend on the user's Attack stat, Groato can be given a Beach Ball, Vial of Tears, and other equipment that raises defense but lowers offense. Not only Groato doesn't care about the attack drop drawback, but having these kinds of equipment makes its Shield Bash attack even stronger. For Groato, equipment intended purely for defense will theorectically raise BOTH its offense and defense! The only Doodle that can reliably counteract Groato are Spirit-types who are immune to Shield Bash. But otherwise, if you don't have a Spirit-type on your team and you face a Groato, you're toast!
  • Spiritual Successor: To Project Pokémon, the team's previous game that got taken down due to a copyright claim from Nintendo. Some Doodles, such as Glubbie and Owol, are actually directly from the previous game.
  • That One Boss:
    • Key Guardian Erika. She is the first Key Guardian to not specialize in a single type, meaning you can't just sweep her with one Doodle. The first few Doodles on her team benefit from the sandstorm weather, which gets set up immediately due to her Anubeetle's Dust Storm Trait. Your Doodles likely get damaged, while hers benefit immensely. Additionally, her team is set up to be competitively viable with certain movepools and Traits, meaning any casual players get crushed. Her Doodles have items such as the Champion Belt, Determination Jelly, and Used Crayons, which are all very good items in general. She will also always have a level advantage on you due to not being bound by the level cap. Her final weapon against you is the fact that she can Awaken her final Doodle, a Mawthra, while you don't even get access to that feature until after you defeat her. Trying to get at her with super-effective moves hardly works, either, considering all of her Doodles also have type coverage.
