* AluminumChristmasTrees: Dive and Kick are fraternal twins but seem to be from different races. As improbable as this seems, there have been documented cases of interracial couples giving birth to twins with differing skin colors.

Popular or successful means it's not this.

* AudienceAlienatingPremise: Defied. People like [=TotalBiscuit=] questioned the marketability of a fighting game simplified down to just two buttons (implying a fighting game for fighting game newbies,) but loaded to the gills with references to the UsefulNotes/FightingGameCommunity that few outside of it would get. Despite this, it still proved popular with the FGC anyway.

Entry makes little sense, essentially saying fans of a genre like a game of that genre.

* MexicansLoveSpeedyGonzales: The fighting game community loves Divekick, largely for the down-to-the-essentials feel of it.

* AwesomeMusic: Dive Bar, JEO Main Stage, and New Angle Dojo. And especially Downworld. It's a shame the music is pretty quiet during matches.

After further discussion on the Deader Than Disco cleanup thread (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=14654177060A30520700&page=48) consensus has been reached that it's Not An Example.

* DeaderThanDisco: Between 2012 and 2014, Divekick was pretty much everywhere. Most major tournaments had it featured, an enthusiastic community had arisen, and lots of people (both part of the FGC and not) were interested. Then it came out, and its popularity exploded...for a couple of months. After its release, lots of people started to notice the flaws with the game (such as the many, many Game Breakers). Afterwards, Keits revealed the "Addition Edition"...a move which pleased no one. Specifically, the idea of "editions" was mocked in the original trailer of the game, and now here it was doing the same thing. By 2015, the online Divekick community was virtually abandoned, and even mentioning the game at FGC events basically got the response "What a fiasco that was, am I right?"

As per conversation with High Crate, re-adding example with better context.

* ThatOneAchievement: Many of the online based achievements is becoming this by time, as DeaderThanDisco is evident.

changing trope names through potholes is not allowed, and T Hey Killed Kenny Again is not YMMV

* TheyKilledKennyAgain: Downplayed in being that the character named Kenny is already technically dead, but can be defeated again. Subverted when you beat Kenny's Story Mode, where he comes back to life after having gotten his revenge.

* DudeNotFunny: The characters of Mr. N and Alex Jefailey came across as mean-spirited and spiteful to a VocalMinority. It probably wasn't intended to be this way -- the real Jebailey effectively paid money to be insulted -- but while he got a kick out of it a lot of other fans didn't see it that way.
