YMMV / Dark Moon: The Blood Altar

Go To

  • Awesome Art: While the fans has their disagreements regarding the story and Sooha, the one thing everyone can agree on is that the art is fantastic.
  • Base-Breaking Character: Sooha, which worsened when the webtoon returned from hiatus. Some ENGENEs hate how much she does less fighting despite having Super-Strength and has displayed in the earlier episodes how capable she is in action, barely having any personality traits beyond her crush on Heli and bias against vampires, how similar she is as a stereotypical Y/N character and for being the main focus instead of the vampires, who are the ones based on ENHYPEN, to the point where their motivations involve her, and often calling her a "pick me girl". Others defend her, pointing out that there's more to her and that her being scared is realistic considering all the horror elements in the story. A more neutral third party just thinks that she was just poorly written.
  • Cliché Storm: A common criticism of the webcomic is how it's a combination of a stereotypical The New '10s Wattpad story, a Harem Genre manga and The Twilight Saga, with the female Y/N-like character having both the vampires and werewolves immediately liking her (despite barely knowing her) and a Love Triangle between the human girl and two males that are a vampire and a werewolf respectively. The fact that the other HYBE webcomics don't have much (or at all) clichés further angers ENGENEs.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Out of all 7 brothers, Solon is arguably the most popular. Him being a vampire-werewolf hybrid made him interesting, his inferiority complex made him sympathetic, and his Tsundere/Hidden Heart of Gold personality endeared him to readers. There's also the Ship Tease with werewolf Enzy.
  • Ho Yay: Lots of readers started to ship Solon and Enzy together after the events of Who in the World Are You?, which has gotten to the point where they're the the couple who everyone wants to be focused on more than the Sooha/Heli/Khan Love Triangle.
  • Informed Wrongness:
    • Solon is portrayed as a Jerkass for not liking Sooha even before he meets her, often getting chastised by his own brothers for being so distrustful of her. However, the thing is, Solon had every right to be suspicious because 1) While Heli has shown multiple times to Sooha that they were trustworthy, she never really gave a reason for them to trust her either, 2) a part of their Dark and Troubled Past mentioned that the boys had been betrayed and hunted by humans like her a couple of times (when they were children, too!) and 3) Sooha has repeatedly mentioned that she hates vampires (which is what they are) and called them "heartless monsters" to their faces. So why would Solon trust someone like her?
    • For the same reasons, his anger at Heli, Jaan, Jino and Shion revealing their powers to her was justified, because at the time, Sooha was just a new acquaintance who they're starting to get to know, and the boys should consider themselves lucky that Sooha wasn't their enemy. Even Jakah got upset over their carelessness.
