YMMV / Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill

Go To

  • Escapist Character: Albeit in a different way than most Isekai protagonists, Mukohda is still this. He doesn't get your typical overpowered battle skill or the Battle Harem chasing after him, but he represents a more chill and arguably mature escapist fantasy. In the fantasy world, he gets to not really worry about money anymore (in fact, his worry begins to become the fact he has too much money), as his skill and familiars gather him rare materials to sell, he is surrounded by overpowered monsters that protect him, but that are also adorable pets in their own ways and that adore him (particularly Sui, whom he treats almost as a child), and gets to spend his time prancing around, cooking and eating delicious food with his friends instead of having to do the heavy lifting of participating in complicated war efforts. Furthermore, he is shown to have developed some significant social and political capital thanks to this. The Adventurer's Guild asks him for "special requests", dealing with creatures, which are a cakewalk for his familiars and are all the same ingredients to feed them, which allows him a lot of freedom to travel as well as friends in high places to call whenever he needs thanks to being the source of unique and powerful items (such as being helped by the Guild due to sourcing them high-profit items and being helped by Willem for sourcing him with a help for his baldness).
  • Memetic Mutation: Due to Mukohda and Ninrir being Real-Life Relatives, there are many jokes about the "big sister begging her little brother for sweets".
  • Moe: Sui, an utterly adorable slime that Mukohda quickly takes a liking to, especially when it gains the ability to talk in a childish voice, even referring to Fel as "uncle".
  • Popular with Furries: Fel, after the anime, likely due to his deep voice and badassery.
  • Self-Fanservice: It's easy to see furry fanart of Fel as if he was an anthropomorphic animal, rather than just a giant wolf.
  • Squick: When staffing his new house, Mukoda tries to solve his problems with his love life by buying a Sex Slave. This is Played for Laughs.
