• Americans Hate Tingle: Comes up during the Virtual Hydlide episode, when Shane notes that the Hydlide series consistently received bad reviews in America despite being very popular and influential in Japan.
• Ensemble Dark Horse: Aja Kong, mostly due to her being a One-Man Army.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: During the Metal Wolf Chaos episode, the guys wonder why such a rabidly Eagleland-flavored game was never released in America, with Seanbaby declaring that he would buy it. Seven years later, publisher Devolver Digital announced that they planned to bring Metal Wolf Chaos to America at long last, which plan came to fruition in 2019.
• Ho Yay: Usually played for laughs, with the guys offering each other handjobs or other sexual favors. It gets ramped up to 11 in the Cho Aniki episode.
  Seanbaby: (while apathetically flailing a Wii controller) Crispin, this might be a weird time to tell you this, but ... I love you, man.
• Watch It for the Meme: The Balls of Fury game repeats the taunt "Have your grandma pull the car around" over and over. The guys wonder what the hell it could possibly mean in context.
  Seanbaby: I can't wait to see this movie and see where that line is. It's like something unrelated to any competition...he's like, with his friend: "Hey, you want to get a taco? Have your grandma pull the car around."
