• Cliché Storm: Part of the charm of the whole film is how gleefully it embraces all the possible cliches of this sort of story and plays majority of them straight, while being a competently made action romper.
• Ensemble Dark Horse: Due to the combination of her screen time and her playful personality, Guan Yin is easily fans' favourite character.
• Special Effect Failure: For the majority of the film, the effects are great, especially given the budget. Except for few really poorly done CGI ones.
  • Explosions are a mixed bag - some are good, others are obviously fake. "Kaboom" killing Roy with a sticky bomb and Roy blowing up "Pam"'s car with a grenade launcher stand out the most.
  • During their car chase, when "Pam" tries to shoot Roy with an assault rifle, the brief frontal shots of her are clearly those of a stunt double with digitally-inserted face of Meadow Williams, who played "Pam". To make it further stand out, Williams is present herself in other shots.
  • A great deal of muzzle flashes were added during editing.
  • Similarly, the film uses CGI blood effects, which are particularly obvious whenever the "thin pink mist" effect is used.
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character:
  • The film really makes you think Dai Feng, Michelle Yeoh's character, is going to face Guan Yin in a swordfight duel, in a Designated Girl Fight. Instead, she has less than 30 seconds of screen time and her entire presence is a short Training Montage with Roy, then she's out of the movie.
  • The whole Carnival of Killers element is swept under the rug by mid-point, once they are relegated into a Gold Fish Poop Gang.
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot:
  • Dai Feng and Guan Yin never meet (aside the few times Guan Yin visits the noodle bar to kill Roy, that is), not to mention fight.
  • Come on, you wanted to see Roy kill Hitler with his personal, if modified, gun.
• Unintentionally Unsympathetic: Roy insults the proprietor of the arcade for being a video game fan, and the audience is supposed to be on Roy's side. The guy wasn't being rude at all to Roy and even has a perfectly good excuse to be involved in video games: it's his business. Considering that the film references video game concepts, one would think that video game fans would make up a good portion of its audience and take the scorn a little personally. He also insults him for choosing not to have kids, remarking "whose choice?" Roy ignored his kid until it became convenient for him.
• Woolseyism: Polish official subtitles are pretty standard and faithful. However, there is also the official Voiceover Translation, which amps up the dialogues significantly, playing up on various classic action flicks and their own cheesy translations from the 80s and 90s, making it a sort of a throwback movie. Oh, and swearing gets far more nuanced, with different characters doing it differently, which does make sense in Polish. While in modern times voice-over translations are usually shunned in Poland, this one makes the film significantly more enjoyable, rather than removing from the experience.
