- Annoying Video Game Helper: Professor Ein repeatedly interrupts the game to give you tutorials and instructions, sometimes even repeating things he's already told you. His messages force you to stop moving and wait for the text to slowly scroll, and worst of all, you can't even skip them when replaying stages.
- Awesome Music:
- The boss theme!
- The game's main theme. It more-or-less became the main theme of the franchise as a whole as a result.
- Breather Boss: Blazing Hawk, made even more obvious since it comes just one level after Bomber Elite.
- Ensemble Dark Horse:
- Constructor-X, whose intro doubles as awesome and awesome — complete with its own Awesome Music — on top of being a Noble Demon with a very fun boss battle.
- Of the Crush Bombers, Assault Bomber is by far the most popular; thanks to being another enjoyable boss, as well as his incredibly hammy and Ax-Crazy characterization that makes him both hilarious and frightening.
- Fridge Horror: In a video of the fight against the Assault Bomber, a comment brings an unnerving possibility to light in regards to his pained screaming at his defeat:Commenter: Y'know, considering that the torso/head of the mech suit detaches from the legs and arms, it's more than likely that the Assault Bomber is either very short or horrendously maimed/disfigured under that armor, further supported by the respirator-like mouthpiece. Said injuries might have actually affected his mind, too; which would explain the 'splodey-happy insanity. With that in mind, it's no wonder he just screams out in agony with his suit malfunctioning and about to blow; any life support or pain inhibiting equipment is also failing and it's likely the first time he's felt his wounds in a long time.
- That One Attack: Eagle Bomber's Piledriver is very difficult to avoid if you're not keeping track of where he is, which results in losing a whole heart and sometimes he'll keep using the attack until you're dead.
- That One Boss:
- Bomber Elite. The majority of the fight he is literally invincible, his telekinetic attacks can get you from pretty much anywhere if you're not careful, and new players aren't likely to catch his patterns the first time.
- Beauty Bomber of all bosses can be this, since — unless you have really good aim with your bombs — your own explosives are very likely to hurt you instead when they blow up on her shields. To add insult to injury, her actual attacks are child's play to avoid.
- Viewer Gender Confusion: Bomber Elite, due in part to his voice actor, a woman, giving him a very feminine voice.
