YMMV / Batwheels

  • Aluminum Christmas Trees: Most casual fans wouldn't probably believe in Robin having his own vehicle, let alone his own car, but there is a comic series starring Robin where he does indeed have a car, also dubbed the Redbird.
  • Alternative Character Interpretation: What were Jestah's intentions for inviting Bibi to break the rules with her in "Wheels Just Wanna Have Fun"? Did she try to convince Bibi to be a troublemaker like her? Was this her thanks to Bibi for rescuing her from the pit in "A Tale of Two Bibis"? Was Jestah just bored with having fun by herself? Did she genuinely try to make friends with her? Is it some combination of the above?
  • Awesome Art: The Batwheels series's art has an outgoing, vibrant, and energetic art style.
  • Awesome Music: The theme song of the series, including the main characters' songs: Bam!, Buff Tuff, Faster, Robin's Ride, and Fly. Also, the Legion of Zoom's song, Bad to the Chrome. The series in general has music that goes above and beyond for a show intended for preschoolers, thanks to having a veteran Batman composer as part of the crew.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Snowy's Token Good Teammate status alongside his friendship with Buff made him the most popular of the Zoomers.
  • Foe Yay Shipping: Since Harley Quinn told Robin that she loves his name in the origin episode "Secret Origins of the Batwheels", some fans begin to ship Redbird with Jestah. There are also other ships like Buff/Snowy and Bam/Prank.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight:
    • An inverted meta example; Green Arrow's debut episode has him suggest that Batman puts poles in to go to the Batcave instead of the elevator already present. While it's not a common standard across all productions, there are some iterations of the Batcave that do have fireman's poles, most notably the 1966 series' "Batpoles".
    • Ethan Hawke, the voice of Batman in this series, originally turned down an offer to portray the character in Batman Forever out of fear of getting typecast. Now he finally plays him in the series.
  • Idiosyncratic Ship Naming: Bam and Bibi's ship name is a combination of their names, "Bambi". Not to be confused by the Disney movie kind of name, though.
  • Moe: Redbird, Bibi, Buff, Goldie, Kitty, Snowy, Alfie, Ace, and (fittingly) M.O.E.
  • Ship Tease:
    • Bam and Bibi are known to be shipped with each other:
      • There are also times when Bam and Bibi are standing next to each other in almost every episode.
      • In "Secret Origin of the Batwheels", Bam greets Bibi when she was brought to life by the motherboard and she replies to him with a laugh and a smile to call her by her name. Bam laughs back and says okay after that.
      • Bibi wheel bumps with Bam when he encourages her and the Batwheels to try being heroes by being themselves in order to stop the Legion of Zoom.
      • In "Stop That Ducky!", Bibi advises that they need someone really fast to draw Ducky into the Batwheels' trap, and Bam replies that he was thinking the same thing while sending her a smile and receives a laugh from Bibi.
      • In "Cave Sweet Cave", Bam tells Bibi that the parking garage has seven levels and adds that Batman blocked them out for them. Bibi then gives Bam the cute-eyed look, which he smiles back at.
      • In "A Tale of Two Bibis", Bam tells Bibi to think before she acts because he doesn't want her to get hurt. It counts out that Bam truly cares about Bibi.
      • In "Batcomputer for the Day", Bibi goes to save Bam from the car wash after he gets launched into it when Batwing presses the wrong button on the Batcomputer keyboard.
      • In "Wheels Just Wanna Have Fun", Bibi asks Bam if he thinks she's fun after being told by Jestah to have fun like her instead of following the rules. Bam replies with a smile and reminds Bibi that rules are there to keep them safe so they can have fun
      • In "Wheel Side Story", when the Batwheels were chasing Ducky, Bibi and Bam were smiling at each other.
      • In "Batty Body Swap", Bam and Bibi have their bodies swapped with each other.
    • Buff and Batwing also get into these in some episodes:
      • There are even some scenes of Batwing smiling softly at Buff and looking at him with affection in both the episodes and the shorts.
      • In "Buff's BFF", it looked like Batwing was becoming jealous of Snowy because Buff was smiling at him, especially when Buff invited him to hang out in the Batcave with them and the Batwheels for a while.
      • In "Bam's Upgrade", Buff, along with Redbird and Bibi, laughs at Batwing's joke and tells her that she's so funny.
      • In the Christmas special "Holiday On Ice", Buff says to Batwing that he misses her and during the Christmas party scene, he crashes into her when he shouts "HOLIDAY GROUP HUG!"
      • In "Buff in a China Shop", Batwing comforts Buff that accidentally knocking stuff over can happen to anyone, then teaches him ballet to help him be more graceful. You can see them dancing in spotlights together.
      • In "Wheel Side Story", Buff was fascinated by Batwing's superb singing voice after they, Bam, Redbird, and Bibi all got hit by Ducky's Songinator Ray.
      • In "Dynamic Du-Oh-No!", Batwing and Buff go out together to stop Snowy and Jestah from stealing freeze-berries. When Batwing was stuck on the island after Snowy froze her wing, Buff comes to her rescue and she happily says to him that he came for her, then Buff replies with a smile that they're partners.
      • In "Batty Body Swap", Batwing gets switched into Buff's body.
  • Periphery Demographic: Despite being marketed towards a preschool audience, Batwheels has largely been praised by the adult DC fanbase for it's high production quality, well-rounded characters, faithfulness to the source material, and occasional references to some of the more obscure details of the DC multiverse. It's also been complimented for toning the franchise's action down in violence and still making for engaging and entertaining Batman content without resorting to overly simplified characterization.
  • Toy Ship: Since the show aired, fans have been into Bam/Bibi and Buff/Batwing as there has been some fan art of the ships in DeviantArt.
  • Unexpected Character: Green Arrow, his plane, Catwoman's car, and the 1966 Batmobile. Season 2 brings along Nightwing and his motorcycle.
  • Visual Effects of Awesome: The animators somehow manage to maintain a high framerate for just about everything in the series while managing to seamlessly integrate a lower framerate for any of the computerized faces on the vehicles, M.O.E., BC, and the Badcomputer. Overall, the show looks like a live-action series that uses very advanced animatronics with special digital facial displays, despite being completely CG animated.
