  • Alternative Character Interpretation: In real life, One Direction are known for being unusually intimate on stage. In the parodies, they're actually in love with each other and only pretend to be heterosexual so they can market their songs to female listeners.
  • Broken Base:
    • The parodies itself have a reputation on debate whether it makes the song it parodied better or worse.
    • The Christian jokes shown in Taylor Swift parodies are the most polarizing aspect in the comments, dividing fans who are Christians and are not. Newer Taylor Swift parodies solve this out by barely putting those jokes again, with a few references towards it.
    • More or less all of these aren't helped with the "Butthurt Comments", which many these days see as Bart Baker basically mocking those who don't like his content or find his parodies unfunny.
    • Go look at basically every parody Bart ever made; there will be comments saying that this was his "last good parody".
    • Selling himself to China has been viewed as this by the majority of his fanbase and commentators. Not helping things is his spreading of propaganda about the pandemic in regards to the United States (where he's from) and the UK, painting China as the only place handling the situation correctly. When all evidence proved to the contrary.
  • Common Knowledge: It's frequently alleged online that the "Stupid Hoe" parody uses Blackface to play the role of Nikki Minaj. The Minaj character is actually played by Jetset Hudson, who is black.
  • Crosses the Line Twice: Bart enjoys doing this, especially in Butthurt Comments.
    • For one example, in "Bad Blood", after mentioning how his videos are merely parodies and not meant to be mean, even mentioning that he likes the original titular song, he then does his usual shtick to Ariana Grande.
  • Fandom Rivalry: Bart's fanbase do not go well with The Key of Awesome's fanbase. Just look at their respective parodies of the same song and you'll see at least two comments comparing the two. Ironic, since Mark and Todd of Barely Political/Key of Awesome and Bart have collaborated and have no rivalry.
  • Harsher in Hindsight:
    • In the "Stupid Hoe" parody, Nicki Minaj (played by Jetset Hudson) says that "this song's so bad, it's giving me a heart attack." He died not long after of a heart attack.
    • At the end of the We Can't Stop parody, a girl asks Liam after Miley faints "So you're marrying that?" and Liam replies "unfortunately". Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth broke up not to long after.
    • In the It's Everyday Bro parody, the lines the Martinez Twins sing ended up being coincidentally accurate when in November 2017, the real Martinez Twins left Team 10, revealing the exact same sentiment (minus the visa part).
    • It's joked throughout the whole Blurred Lines parody that Robin Thicke is a rapist who takes advantage of women and uses fake excuses to avoid getting arrested. Eight years later and Emily Ratajkowski revealed that she was groped by a coked out Robin on the set of the music video.
  • He Really Can Act: Or better applied "He Really Can Sing", for the people who dismiss him as an artist. Just listen to him during his cover of "Hooked on a Feeling" along with other YouTubers.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight:
    • The Taylor Swift parodies make her out to be a psycho who wants to torment her exes. Then she released "Blank Space", an ironic parody of these jokes and a Take That! to people interpreting her as such. Bart then parodied that song, and it claimed that Taylor Swift, played by Bart Baker, copied Bart Baker playing Taylor Swift. Getting a headache from that?
    • In the "Sorry" parody, Kylo Ren shows up and is treated as fairly serious (as much as you can get with him dancing) in contrast to the immature and whiny Justin Bieber... except this was before the film was released and was known Kylo would be very similar.
  • Memetic Mutation: That fat crossdressing old man in the "California Gurls" parody. He has been cited as a classic and recognizable figure amongst the community.
  • Older Than They Think: Bart has been making videos since 2007.
  • Seasonal Rot: While Bart's videos are still great, his newer videos are getting less and less interesting than his older ones. Even some of his parodies are deemed inferior than how The Key of Awesome does it.
  • Special Effect Failure:
    • "Wrecking Ball" ends with Bart-as-Miley twerking in the middle of a construction site, right before getting nailed with a literal wrecking ball. It's obvious that Bart's not really on the set, since he doesn't have any drop shadow for that shot.
    • Also from "Wrecking Ball" The scene where Bart as Miley is supposedly riding said wrecking ball naked. Even with the censor blur, it is painfully obvious Bart is wearing shorts that don't even come close to matching his skin-tone (even taking into account the possibility of a tan line).
    • The car scene in the "Confident" parody looks really fake.
    • As does any background that is greenscreened in by Bart. They tend to look really computer-generated and really plastic.
Ariana Grande: It's obvious that I am just laying on a greenscreen, yeah.
    • Also lampshaded at the start of his "Dark Horse" parody, where the opening message is replaced by "Hollywood, California on a shitty ass green screen..."
    • To play the twins in "Lips Are Movin" Bart just cast King Bach as both and green-screened them in. It's very obvious.
  • Spiritual Successor: Bart made a video of funny comments for the "Scream and Shout" parody. He only ever did this once, however he now does "Butthurt Comments" videos with effectively the same sort of format, focusing exclusively on the more over-the-top hate comments.
  • Squick: A lot of moments in his parodies, along with a heaping dose of Nausea Fuel, with a full list to count!
  • The Woobie: Mark. He just wanted his family to have a nice Christmas. But Meghan gives his son an HP tablet, resulting in the kid yelling at him for not getting him an iPad and his wife then telling him she wants a divorce.
