YMMV: Amnesia (Otome)
  • Awesome Music: The OP for the anime, "Zoetrope" by Nagi Yanagi, definitely qualifies. It's highlighted as one of the best things about the anime adaptation.
  • Base Breaker: Toma. Depends on your opinion of yanderes.
  • Broken Base: The fact that Aksys Games is possibly looking into localizing the original game. Some are happy to get another otome game in English, others wish they'd focus on another one.
  • Darkness-Induced Audience Apathy
  • Ensemble Darkhorse: Toma is the most popular character in the Japanese fandom. Yes, that Toma.
    • Kent is very popular with western fans, to the point that some of them consider him the only good romantic option.
  • Fan Nickname: Although Heroine lacks an official name, Lin is the most common name used by the fandom for calling her.
  • Memetic Mutation: Kawaii uguu cage of love!
  • The Scrappy: Heroine, just like many otome game protagonists. She's even considered one of the worst ones ever written.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Heroine to many, especially in Toma's route.
  • Unfortunate Implications: Heroine and Orion trying to justify Toma's yandereness, even after locking her up in a cage. "He did all this to protect me?..." "Yeah, it's strange, but he can't help that his feelings are too strong!"[1]
  • What an Idiot: Seriously, Heroine, if you just found out that the guy you are living with has been drugging you for days in Yandere-like fashion, don't hesitate about escaping. Get out of there!
  • The Woobie: Ukyo. He is also an Iron Woobie.
    • Heroine! First of all, she has amnesia which, by the way, cannot be cured in an ordinary hospital, Ikki's fanclub after her, having to deal with Toma, who has genuinely good means but extremely questionable methods, and in the Joker route, the entire world out to kill her. In multiple timelines.
