• Narm: There is a small but significant number of people in Sherlock fandom that consider this story to be nothing more than an overrated sob story. Critics mainly focus on the excessive amounts of crying (done by John), the sheer banality of the plot (Sherlock just picks up a brain tumor so the angst can begin) and some glaring OOC moments. Alternatively, it could be considered Narm Charm, sort of like Titanic (1997), because people seem to consider this story to be just one big Tear Jerker.
• Wangst: People who don't like this story see most Tear Jerker moments as this. John's mourning and Sherlock's final breakdown are rather overdone.
