Auntie Edna is a 2018 animated Short Film follow-up to Incredibles 2, directed by Ted Mathot. It initially premiered with the Blu-Ray and DVD release of the movie and is a part of the Pixar Shorts.

Set during the events of the movie (while Bob catches up on some much needed sleep), Edna spends time analyzing Jack Jack's Combo Platter Powers and designs a supersuit for him.

Contains examples of:

  • Ascended Extra: Despite already being significant characters in the franchise, Edna and Jack-Jack become the main two characters in this short.
  • Babysitting Episode: The short shows what happened with Edna while she watches Jack Jack so Bob can catch up on some much needed sleep.
  • Badly Battered Babysitter: Poor Edna babysits Jack-Jack as his Combo Platter Powers manifest, all so she can collect research for his new supersuit. She ends up faring much better than his father or his previous babysitter and actually takes a liking to the baby. Things only go off-course toward the end when she runs out of cookies and triggers Jack Jack's Demon Imp form.
  • The Berserker: Downplayed in that, as a toddler, his "berserker rage" is throwing a temper tantrum. However, when Edna runs out of cookies for Jack-Jack, he turns into his Demonic Imp form and chases after her, forcing Edna to lock herself in the testing chamber.
  • Bookends: The first and last scene both feature Bob with Edna and Jack-Jack, with Bob being worried and Edna being excited. The main difference is that Edna is taking Jack-Jack at the beginning and then gives him back to Bob at the end.
  • Call-Back: One of the Jack-Jacks was shown tossing objects into Edna's incinerator trash disposal seen in the first movie.
  • Combo Platter Powers: Like with Kari in Jack-Jack Attack, Edna has to deal with Jack-Jack's many powers, so that she can make a supersuit that caters for these powers.
  • Continuity Nod: This short shows what happened with Edna and Jack-Jack after a sleep-deprived Bob dropped him off.
  • A Day in the Limelight: While a major character in the feature films, Edna gets her chance to shine here.
  • Goo-Goo-Godlike: Same powerful baby, different victim. Edna fares better because she knows Jack Jack is a Super. In a light-hearted moment, Edna calls him a "tiny god" as he's showing off his new supersuit, in reference to her line in the first movie "I used to design for gods."
  • Meanwhile Scene: This short focuses on what happened with Jack-Jack and Edna at her mansion during the events of Incredibles 2, with the other Parr family members being absent.
