Eight contestants set out on a search to find an unspecified prize in an unspecified place with unspecified motives.... What Could Possibly Go Wrong?note

The Acronym of Tomorrow is an Object Show webcomic by Epicbattler3 (Creator of Yet Another Gameshow and Unconventionally Centered) and published on 10th May 2021.

It is styled as an adventure RPG game where viewers can suggest the actions of various characters although said characters don't always follow the prompts if it conflicts with their morals/views.

On the fictitious planet of ██████ eight Animate Inanimate Objects are tasked with finding the grand prize led by Game Show Host № and her co-host/daughter ඞ. The only problem is the contestants don't know what the prize actually is let alone looks like and thus began an intercontinental treasure hunt full of danger, dead-ends and daring adventure.

The comic can be viewed here on ComicFury.

This webcomic contains the following tropes:

  • Added Alliterative Appeal: The fight mechanics all start with the same letter as the name of the character. So far, we've seen mp3y (Mash and Maintain), Rockety (Ravish and Resist) and Blady (Break, Brave and Blitz) with the only exception being SCP-4076 (Secure, Contain, Protect).
  • A Dog Named "Dog": Replace "Dog" with "Object" and it's the same thing. If the character is not named this, it's usually...
  • A Lizard Named "Liz": More than half the contestants have the commonly used "-y" suffix combined with the name of their species (Blady, mp3y, Rockety, Toasty and Watery).
  • Animate Inanimate Object: The contestants are all anthropomorphic objects with faces and limbs.
  • Anthropomorphic Typography: The Game Show Host and her assistant № and ඞ who are living symbols not normally found on the keyboard.
  • Armless Biped: There are two who play it straight (SCP-4076 and Rockety) and two who put an interesting take on the trope (Soda has arms but they're inside her body while Toasty has four legs).
  • Attack! Attack! Attack!: mp3y and Rockety's combat strategy against Snatcher is to repeatedly and mindlessly beat the thing senseless until it couldn't move.
  • Fingerless Hands: Ball-shaped appendages that sometimes have fingers whenever necessary as per the norm in Object Shows.
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus: Upon closer look on №'s computer screen in an unlisted video, the text is wingdings font code when tranlated reads out a pointless message.

  • Let's Split Up, Gang!: As the contest doesn't employ teams, the contestants went off in different directions to find the prize.
    • Blady wanted to go solo but reluctantly let SCP-4076 tag along as they made their way to a temple in a dense forest.
    • mp3y and Rockety opted to break the ground beneath them with explosions, revealing a massive RPG dungeon both must traverse. There they meet a mysterious prisoner named Magic 8-Ball who joins their party.
    • Soda Bottle, Toasty and Watery team up and break into № and ඞ's home in order to ransack and find clues about the prize.
    • Cherry Blossom walks off on their own towards an abandoned factory. She befriends a non-sentient duck as her companion and keeps it on their head.
  • Minimalist Cast: There are only 10 characters in the comic consisting of eight contestants, a host and a co-host.
  • Record Needle Scratch: The second RPG fight sequence of Blady and SCP-4067 verses the Snatcher is accompanied by epic battle music...that screeches to a halt when SCP-4076 gets Eaten Alive by the Snatcher.
  • Where the Hell Is Springfield?: The location for the competition is called ██████ but whether it's deliberately redacted or the actual name is unclear.
