Meet Sigmund "Siggy" Lopez and Bellaluna "Bella" Beatrix. Your everyday young couple doing everyday young couple things. Chatting, getting to know each other, going on dates, etc.
There's just a small hitch: Both are aliens in disguise, sent on a recon mission to earth. Siggy knows Bella is an alien, Bella knows Siggy is an alien, and both assume the other has no clue. Hijinks ensue.

- Amnesia Loop: The end of the "I Know Your Girlfriend Is An Alien" mini-arc reveals Jamie, a human investigating Siggy and Bella in secret, is caught in one of these. Turns out Bella is fully aware of her, and has wiped her memory of them more than once.
- Becoming the Mask: Bella realizes to her horror she is genuinely attached to Siggy when she finds a stupid joke from Siggy funny. Comes to a head in "When You Like Your Girlfriend".
- Drama-Preserving Handicap: Being a mind reader, Bella could easily find out Siggy knows she's an alien. But she doesn't use telepathy on her, reasoning it's rude to read your girlfriend's mind.
- Extraordinary World, Ordinary Problems: At one point an angry-looking man is muttering about Bella and Siggy behind their backs. Bella thinks that he knows they are aliens, but it turns out he is just homophobic.
- Foil: Siggy and Bella contrast heavily. Bella is tall, busty, primarily dark in coloration, and intentionally wears a disguise that still makes her look like an alien monster. Siggy is short, flat-chested, mostly lightly colored, and looks like a normal human with dyed hair. Bella is far more collected and calm in her demeanor and seems more competent as an infiltrator in terms of attitude while Siggy is a Nervous Wreck.note Bella is confident that her disguise works while Siggy panics in private that Bella may be catching on due to very minor details. Siggy seems far more invested in the relationship as a relationship while Bella maintains it is just part of the job until she starts Becoming the Mask. Even their methods of record are different, with Bella recording her findings in a scientific alien memory tube and Siggy simply writing her observations in a journal.
- Freaky Fashion, Mild Mind: Played With concerning Bella. She is an alien infiltrator, so "mild mind" is up for debate, but her intentionally monstrous looksnote are contrasted with a calm, stoic, and fairly no-nonsense demeanor that reacts well under pressure.
- Glamour Failure: While Siggy has a much more convincing disguise than Bella, it tends to slip when she gets flustered.
- Lame Pun Reaction: Played With. Bella starts to chuckle at a stupid joke from Siggy, which clues her in that she really is becoming attracted to Siggy.
- Laser-Guided Amnesia: Bella has a handy ability to wipe memories. Very useful for when Siggy's disguise slips.
- Nervous Wreck: Siggy breaks out in a nervous sweat whenever she thinks someone will find out about her disguise, which is fairly often. When she tries to give Bella the choice of where they go that day and Bella tells her to choose, Siggy reacts like she has been shot at.
- No Periods, Period: Referenced when Siggy plants tampons and cranberry sauce in her trashcan to hide the fact that as an alien, she doesn't menstruate.
- Opposites Attract: As shown under Foil, Bella and Siggy are markedly different individuals. And also clearly smitten with the other.
- Paper-Thin Disguise: Bella is very obviously an alien. This is all according to design, as she believes looking so obviously inhuman would make people just not question it.Bella: You see, the average human would assume an alien would try really hard to pass as human. Using this assumption, my disguise looks so much like an alien you would have to be stupid to assume I'm an alien.
- Taught by Television: The twosome seem to gather most of their knowledge on Earth from Wikipedia, frequently discussing the interesting pages they've recently read.
