She's taken in by a human, and dedicates herself to fighting the demon threat on Earth so history doesn't repeat itself. Until the Kuchisake-Onna appears to her and informs her the demons are going to open the gate...

This webcomic provides examples of:
- Enemy to All Living Things: Whatever the demons are, they seem to destroy planets one by one.
- Evil-Detecting Dog: Maggie appears to work alone, fighting evil demons from another dimension.
- Exactly What It Says on the Tin: A cat named Maggie fights demons.
- Glasgow Grin: The Kuchisake-Onna is a classic example, as she's the slit mouthed woman from japanese urban legend. The Baron, who's only appeared on the cover so far, also seems to have a cut out grin.
- Half-Dressed Cartoon Animal: Subverted. In present day, Maggie wears what appears to be a t-shirt as a dress. In flashbacks, she's wearing jeans. It's likely she just can't find cat-sized jeans on Earth.
- Self-Insert Fic:
Word of God has said that Toby and Maggie are based on the writer Tony and his cat Mae. - Stringy-Haired Ghost Girl: The Kuchisake-onna mixes the Glasgow Grin from the original urban legend with long, stringy black hair.
