- Driving Question: For the first season, the question is "Did Yoohyun really killed Jin Eun-seol?”
- Dysfunctional Family: Park Gaeul’s family is this and it is also the case for Yoohyun and Hyomin.
- Freudian Excuse: If Yoohyun and Gaeul were raised right, they probably would have been regular nice kids.
- Love Triangle: Subverted in the beginning between Yoohyun/Gaeul/Hyomin but later somewhat played straight. Also played straight between Taeseok/Gaeul/Hyomin
- Never Suicide: Everyone besides Gaeul and Hyomin think that Eun-seol killed herself because of a suicide note found in her home, but Yoohyun was suspiciously with her when she fell to her death.
- Secret Relationship: Yoo-hyun and Eun-seol were secretly dating, as discovered by Gaeul when she saw them kissing. Which made Yoohyun even more suspicious when she found out he was with her when she died.
- Sexual Extortion: Gaeul is willing to keep Yoo-hyun’s secret, in exchange of him being with her. However, she never asks for anything more than kisses.
