Queer robotic Garden of Eden. A lonely robot searches through a magical storm for the people who created her, running across monsters and sometimes making friends along the way.
Garden of Iron is a Science Fantasy Webcomic by Dragon Harris. It can be read here.
Garden of Iron provides examples of:
- Art Evolution: Mostly in the form of shading styles.
- By the Lights of Their Eyes: Logical, since Eve’s eyes are screens.
- Call a Smeerp a "Rabbit": Ada’s names for the different creatures the storm has created include Gila monster, dog, and pigeon.
- Cypher Language: When a Speaker character talks to something inanimate, the object’s responses are generally in a cypher.
- Deadpan Snarker: Ada.
Ada: [flatly] Oh good. Then we’ll both fall.
- Eye on a Stalk: Some of the background creatures have this.
- Faceless Eye: The “pigeons.”
- Fembot: Eve.
- Garden of Eden: A robot named Eve made by Eden Robotics who’s recently befriended an Ada.
- Glowing Mechanical Eyes: Eve. Later, Ada.
- Made of Magic: Eve insists she isn’t magic, but she’s definitely not normal.
- Perpetual Storm: The “reality storm” that started the story off.
- Puppy-Dog Eyes: Eve attempts this in the first chapter.
- Significant Green-Eyed Redhead: Dana.
- Twice-Told Tale: A very different take on the original Garden of Eden story.
