Voltz Warz is a scripted Science Fiction Minecraft series on YouTube, featuring several Let's Players in the likes of Tubbo, CaptainSparklez, Ranboo, Jack Manifold, and Bob, Rich, and Edd from FMBsChannel. The series is based around a mod-pack called VOLTZ, which modifies normal gameplay by adding elements like nuclear weapons, ores, and machinery that don't normally exist in Minecraft.
The story follows three groups of people who inhabit (willingly or not) the Planet 11021_32 Xz, an alien world scattered with ancient relics and worn-down structures from past civilizations; The Researchers, a duo of a young something..? who fell out of a portal, and a scientist who also lost his memory after accidentally blowing up his outpost, the Bounty Hunters, a pair of, well, bounty hunters who were assigned to take out a group of escapee theives on Planet 11021_32 Xz before crashing their ship and accidentally ending up stranded, and the Convicts, a group of thieves who were previously prisoners in a mine, who end up banding together and escaping by blowing up the mine and freeing the other prisoners.
There are three POVs, uploaded to these three youtube channels: The Let's Play Channel (the Bounty Hunters), CaptainSparklez (the Researchers), and FMBsChannel (the Convicts).
This series provides examples of:
- Alien Landmass: Some bits of rock and earth can be seen floating around in clumps, one being a key part of Captainsparklez's laboratory, and only being able to be accessed by using some type of block that propels you upwards.
- All Planets Are Earth-Like: Apart from the occasional mysterious purple pillar or two, Planet 11021_32 Xz has a striking similarity to Earth in the fact that it has multiple biomes, several animals that also appear on Earth like sheep and pigs, and a breathable atmosphere.
- Didn't Think This Through: When Captainsparklez and Ranboo are exploring the Captain's base-laboratory for the first time, they end up on a floating island above the lab with no way down. After some deliberation, they end up jumping, and barely survive with the Captain only being on half a heart.Ranboo: (while only on one heart himself) You've got really strong legs, dude.
- Disposable Intern: Captainsparklez's assistant, Sascha. While Ranboo and the Captain managed to escape the portal lab before it blew up, she wasn't so lucky.
- Ghost Town: Tubbo and Jack Manifold come across a completely abandoned campsite and mine when exploring after their ship crashed, complete with cobwebs, journals, and a gravestone.
- Landmark of Lore: The huge colosseum-like structure that the Bounty Hunters come across when first exploring.
- Lost Technology: You can't walk five steps on Planet 11021_32 Xz without running into run-down relics and ruins from a past civilization, whether they serve a greater purpose or not.
- Stuff Blowing Up: After falling out of the portal, Ranboo goes around Captainsparklez's lab set-up flicking random levers while seemingly being unaware of the Captain's requests for him to stop, until he breaks the glass and flips the emergency detonation lever. Queue a frenzied scramble where the Captain has to practically drag Ranboo out of the place, before they both watch it blow up, the blast knocking Captainsparklez unconscious.
- Again when the Convicts blow up the mine they were being held at in a successful attempt to escape.
